In this episode, the teams race from Brazil to Bolivia, which poses two major problems. The first is altitude sickness. Bolivia is about 13,000 feet above sea level. If one is not accustomed to that altitude and insists upon running around a lot, one will need to be hooked up to an oxygen machine. The second problem in Bolivia? Professional wrestling outfits. 'Nuff said.

The Top 9 Things I Learned About the Teams on The Amazing Race 13
ReplyDelete1. Ken and Tina [Separated]: They were the first to leave and the first to arrive. Ken, a former professional athlete, did a wonderful job at the “Fighting Cholitas” Road Block (involving a professional wrestling routine with a Bolivian woman) which almost made up for his annoying taxi whistle.
2. Toni and Dallas [Mother and Son]: These two continue to quietly chip away at the competition, arriving second at the mat.
3. Terence and Sarah [Newly Dating]: made one of the funniest (if quick) mistakes on The Amazing Race ever: they stopped at a completely unrelated-to-the-race soccer game because the referee was waving a red and yellow flag.
4. Marisa and Brooke [Southern Belles]: The blondes were the last to leave Brazil and the fourth to arrive in Bolivia… all on luck.
5. Aja and Ty [Long Distance Dating]: During a detour with freakishly fast homemade wooden bikes (you read that right) Aja chanted the mantra: “I am the master of my fate.” I’m going to use that the next time I’m scared!
6. Nick and Starr [Siblings]: At the Brazilian Pit Stop, the siblings got on the bad side of Kelly and Christy when Starr was accused of pushing the bra of one of the divorcees (I can’t tell them apart) off the ledge at the hotel… I don’t think she did it, but man, GAME ON!
7. Andrew and Dan [Fraternity Brothers]: Schlepping across two countries has not been kind to the two ASU frat boys… I don’t think they’ll make it across the world.
8. Kelly and Christy [Divorcees]: Learning for their dismal performance last week, the two actually read the directions this time and got ahead. The boost was short-lived, however, and they came in dead last. But wait…
9. Mark and Bill [Best Friends]: Because of a technicality (reading the directions wrong, duh!) the two best friends (and my horses) were given a 30 minute time penalty which resulted in their elimination. I guess I’ll just have to watch more Mythbusters to get my fix of really smart and endearingly-geeky guys.
What do YOU think? Did Starr sabotage the support underwear of the divorcees? What is up with Tina’s eyebrows? Who do you want to win? Give us your Two Cents… We’ll let it ride in the Stock Market… or maybe not.
Next week: Somebody breaks an arm…!
