As the show strays further into Mission: Impossible territory, threads begin to weave together. Interpreting images from Michael’s camera phone, the crew finds a license plate and Turkish diplomatic flags. They stake out the consulate to find Lisa Tabak, who holds the second card in the Scylla chain. While she meets with the General, the crew is on a second stakeout when Linc spots Bagwell on the street. A scuffle between him and the brothers is broken up to avoid intervention by local security.

As the show strays further into Mission: Impossible territory, threads begin to weave together. Interpreting images from Michael’s camera phone, the crew finds a license plate and Turkish diplomatic flags. They stake out the consulate to find Lisa Tabak, who holds the second card in the Scylla chain. While she meets with the General, the crew is on a second stakeout when Linc spots Bagwell on the street. A scuffle between him and the brothers is broken up to avoid intervention by local security.
Finally arriving at Gate, Bagwell prepares to meet Mr. White. The receptionist gives him two messages from a Mr. Xing, who has been looking for him. Left alone in his new office, Bagwell checks the bird book and finds the name Xing, along with his new office number of 122B. Later, he is partnered with a salesman named Andy, who is incredibly suspicious of his background. At the end of the episode, we find that Whistler (as Pfeiffer) was supposed to deliver Scylla to Xing. When Xing does not have it, he is killed by his superior, who comes looking for Pfeiffer.
In the midst of tracking Sara, Wyatt receives a call from the General. He dissuades Wyatt from killing Gretchen, and informs him that there is another former Company agent that needs to be dealt with. Wyatt finds Jasper, who had been contacted by Self to obtain decoding hardware.
The crew finds out about an event Lisa is attending for Eagles and Angels, a benefit organization for policemen killed in the line of duty. They break into the police warehouse to steal uniforms and badges. Michael plants Roland’s electronics under her table, but she attempts to leave in mid-download after a call from the General. About the same time, Linc is recognized by her bodyguard and chased outside, where he kills the man, and he and Bellick dispose of the body. Mahone detains Lisa’s companion as Michael stays with her for the download.
Sara heads to a local bar and contemplates breaking her sobriety. A local drunk hits on her. When she refuses to talk to him, he swipes the credit card that Bennett gave to her. When he uses the card, Wyatt is called. Although he misses Sara in the bar, he knows she is in the area, and he begins to close in on her. Mahone finds a sketch of Wyatt in the file on his son’s murder, and he asks Roland to hack into whatever database he needs to in order to find out info on the man.
From episode one, the questions have been out there…How long can you sustain the premise? How much artistic license can you take? In season four, those questions are getting harder to answer. The detour into Sona last year put off some people. Even die hard fans were asking if that was all the show was going to be was Michael breaking out of somewhere else. But for three seasons, it had reinvented itself creatively. This year is a little trickier. Not to mention some key threads here…A room full of policemen who don’t recognize Linc or Michael? Charges are still pending against them, or Self would have no leverage. And the General, who had been so closed-mouthed in previous seasons, doesn’t seem at all concerned about who may be listening now. Just seems like even last season, they would have had a line or two about secure locations or jamming of a signal. Some things this season are just too convenient, which makes it a little disappointing. But still worth a look.

I'm just watching this show for the eye candy and sweet Wentworth Miller dreams.
ReplyDeleteThe story line this season is full of holes. Really not so good.
While I'm excited about seeing Wyatt confront the gang in the next prison break episode (unless Sarah realises she is being followed and leads him astray) I'm not satisfied with how he got her location.
