The team rushes to the Stargate, chased by a couple of Goa'uld death gliders. A spectacular start of the episode, you have no idea what is going on all you know is that they are being chased and that they are running for their lives.

Daniel and Sam are running ahead of Jack and Teal’c, they reach the Stargate and make their way through it. Right at the moment when the latter two reach the Stargate Jack jumps through, while Teal'c turns around and shoots the death glider down, it crashes right in front of the Stargate but not before you get a glimpse of a Goa’uld face behind the window of the cockpit.

Jack lands on the floor of the SGC and turns around but Teal'c doesn't appear. Even though he was right behind him, Jack is obviously shaken because he knows how close the ship was to the Stargate. The first thing they try is redialing the Stargate but an error appears and general Hammond aborts the dialing.

Carter thinks that they can dial the gate because the ship most likely crashed into the dial home device (dhd). According to Sam the gate registered that there was an energy pattern still in the gate and that is the reason why the error occurred. Until they find a way to get Teal'c out of the gate system they can't use it. Dialing out or dialing in from a remote planet would overwrite Teal'c energy pattern which would mean that there is no way to save him.

General Hammond closed the Stargate down to give them time to find a solution. Jack tries to help but since he can't understand a word Sam is saying he is pretty much useless. The Stargate is sealed off, but at that moment 8 SG teams are off world. They have no choice one of the teams is supposed to return within the hour and if they manage to dial in Teal'c is lost.

Knowing that the Russians have a Stargate as well they seek their help and they manage to contact all the teams that are off world to inform them of the situation. Daniel and Major Davis arrive in Moscow to negotiate, even though Russia says that they have no desire to start their own Stargate program, they do insist on access to technologies procured by the SGC.

Meanwhile at the SGC Colonel Frank Simmons arrives with Dr. McKay. Who according to him is the authority on Stargate Technology. He starts off with telling Sam that her dialing computer is full of flaws and that it has caused numerous problems and errors. This of course doesn't sit right with Sam especially because Dr. McKay has never actually seen a working Stargate and has only studied a model of the Stargate. Even though Sam and McKay obviously disagree with each other they are forced to work together to find a solution to save Teal'c. They do so but while Sam believes they can save Teal'c, McKay is convinced that her theories are based on assumptions and hoping against better knowing. The pentagon gives them 48 hours to rescue Teal'c after which they are supposed to continue the Stargate program.

Jack on his turn wants to help as well, and with the help of Harry Maybourne he finds out that Simmons has found and captured the Goa'uld that escaped (Desperate measures). Jack thinks that he can offer them information on how they can save Teal'c.

Dr Jackson and Major Davis plead with the Russians and eventually they get them as far as to lend them their dhd. A Russian colonel joins them on their trip back home. Where Sam and McKay will use the dhd to save Teal'c. At the same time Jack tells general Hammond that he has information which can potentially save Teal'c. His information incriminates Simmons who is taken hostage by general Hammond right at the moment where they where going to continue the Stargate program which would erase Teal'c energy signature.

Their 48 hours have expired but with the new information they received from the Goa'uld who was captured by Simmons Sam wired the dhd to the Stargate and follows the instructions. Teal'c emerges from the gate seemingly unharmed, he tells them that he destroyed the ship that was following them on the planet. He tells them that Tanith, who was the pilot of the death glider died hence Teal'c took his revenge on the murderer of his lover. Ironically Teal'c' life is rescued by an other Goa'uld.

It was too funny when all of the sudden they introduced Dr. McKay to Sam and General Hammond. Now you have to know that this situation was strange for me, because I have seen all of the Atlantis episodes but I am far behind when it comes to SG1. Of course from the Atlantis episodes I knew that there was a past between Sam and McKay but I didn't know that there actually was an episode where they met previously to the spinoff.

And to be quite honest, he is an ass. I mean he might not be the most liked person on Atlantis either but the way that he acted here really did it. Maybe it is good that I have seen him in the other episodes first. It made sure that I didn't hold a grudge against him, because I know that he is also a man who gets misunderstood often,

Right now I have no idea which episode I will review next time, well see what I come up with. Or if you want me to review a certain episode reply to this post and I will see what I can do.
