One More in the NUMB3RS

Sophina Brown will join the cast of NUMB3RS as a series regular this season. NUMB3RS has its fifth season premiere Friday, Oct. 3 (10:00-11:00 PM/ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Brown will play the team’s newest agent, Nikki Betancourt, a tough, street-smart ex-LAPD officer and full-blown adrenaline junkie who got her law degree at night school. Nikki may be new to the team, but she’s not a rookie, and her method of handling cases won’t always mesh with how Don (Rob Morrow) likes to run his team.

    Brown was most recently seen in the role of Raina Troy on the CBS drama series "Shark." One of her other television credits also includes a previous guest starring role on NUMB3RS. Brown’s other small-screen credits include a recurring role in "Chappelle's Show" and guest-starring roles in the CBS series "Without a Trace," "Hack," "The Education of Max Bickford" and the daytime drama "As the World Turns." She has also guest-starred in "Law & Order," "Law & Order: SVU," "Strangers with Candy" and "Twins." Among Brown's theater credits are the role of Nala in the Broadway production of "The Lion King," the role of Carmen in the national tour of "Fame -- The Musical" and roles in regional productions of "Jesus Christ Superstar," "As You Like It" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Her feature film credits include "Because I Said So."
