A Tok’ra scientist, Anise arrives on earth with a phenomenal new technology; armbands that give the wearer greatly increased strength and speed and enhance other abilities. Problem is the armband doesn’t work for the Tok’ra.

She asks if the SG1 team will test the bracelets, they agree. Jack, Daniel and Sam all wear one, they are tested by Anise. To see if their strength increases. Teal’c and Jack battle against each other in a boxing match to see if something changes and that is when Jack first notices the difference. He is faster then usual and hits harder, he hits Teal’c knock out.

He is tested by Anise again and the test results tell her that his strength has increased to 5 times the strength of a normal human being. Daniel and Sam, start to wear one of the bracelets and are being tested.

At one moment Jack comes into the room where Daniel is working on some translations and he reads through a book in a matter of seconds. Daniel asks him a question to test if he really did read it. And when Jack is able to answer the question even without understanding what the book is about, Daniel seems a little jealous of Jack’s abilities. But soon thereafter it becomes obvious that he can do the same thing.

Dr. Frasier is afraid that the armbands have an addictive effect and she is worried about the raised body temperature levels of the team. She asks General Hammond to stop the tests until they know more about the armbands. But when he asks the team to remove the bracelets they can’t comply, the armbands are not loosening.

When Dr. Frasier is looking for Sam she finds her behind a computer to wait till it catches up to her increasingly fast typing. The computer is too slow, and when the buffer is full she needs to wait till it catches up. Never the less she has written a thousand page book in under two hours.

Against a direct order Jack, Daniel and Sam leave the base during the experiment to get some steak, because of the high energy levels they need a lot of food and proteins. Daniel gets in trouble with some guys at the bar and a bar brawl ensues.

Janet Frasier finds out that the bracelets can cause multiple organ failure if they can’t get them off. General Hammond asks them what happened at the bar, when Anise comes back and says that the Tok’ra want to put their new abilities to use.

General Hammond doesn’t like the idea because he knows that it will put the team in great danger especially when they are not thinking straight. He tells them to go to lock up, and asks them to work with them. During their stay in lockup they figure out an idea to go to the planet to destroy the new build Goa’uld ship that Apophis is building, it is a ship more advanced then anything they have ever faced before.

Jack, Daniel and Sam come up with a plan to blow up the ship and leave the SGC using their super speed to overthrow the jaffa guards at the Stargate. They make their way to the ship to place the C4, while Daniel retrieves the naquaada. Sam and Daniel move to place C4 explosives on the ship's cooling system. Using their superspeed, to penetrate the multiple force shields in the corridors.

Janet and Anise find out that after a certain amount of time the armbands loose their power and they fall off. Daniel is the first person who’s armband fails, Teal’c takes him to the exit with Jack and Sam following them. Sam’s armband gives out secondly and gets stuck behind a force field.

Jack tries to help her but his own armband gives out also. The C4 that they have placed explodes, while Daniel and Teal’c risks their own lives by staying with them it gives Sam and Jack a chance to get out. The force fields are affected by the blast and give out. With the exploding ship and mountain behind them they run for their life towards the Stargate which was activated by Teal’c.

They make it back to earth barely in time before the ship and the mountain explode. General Hammond forgives them for what they did because they where under the influence by alien technology when they disobeyed orders.

Anise on her turn is apologetic but glad that they survived the ordeal. She leaves earth to go back to her Tok’ra planet taking.

Don S. Davis rest in peace

This passed week the news reached us that Don Davis is no longer among us. On June 29th he passed away, he was only 65 years old. If you are a Stargate fan, then you know this wonderful man. He portrayed Major General George Hammond, he was with the cast for the first seven years. He was the base commander and a father figure to many of the show's characters. And even after that he didn’t leave the show alone, he was still doing guest appearances on both SG1 and Atlantis. Don's final Stargate appearance is in Stargate: Continuum, the SG-1 DVD movie that will be released July 29 in North America and August 18 in the United Kingdom. I am sure that amongst the fans of the Stargate franchise he will be missed.

For my next review I have chosen the episode “2010”, I really liked that one. Because it showed a completely different side of Sam.
