In this episode, we meet Daisy Adair, who has transferred in to take Betty’s place. The problem is that she’s a terrible replacement. She’s sickeningly sweet but with intention. Daisy asks for chipped ice and when she doesn’t get it, she gets the waitress to redo the drink through her frustratingly pleasant manipulative techniques. The drink ends up in Mason’s lap but he doesn’t seem to mind too much.

In this episode, we meet Daisy Adair, who has transferred in to take Betty’s place. The problem is that she’s a terrible replacement. She’s sickeningly sweet but with intention. Rube has Daisy stay with George, which means George sleeps in a chair, has no pillow and can’t even brush her teeth when she wants to. When she finally does get up the nerve to tell Daisy off, she is stopped by what she thinks is Daisy’s emotional breakdown but is really just her going over her lines for a play.

Meanwhile, at the Lass residence, Reggie is skipping school to read under her Toilet Tree. The psychologist Joy takes Reggie to gets this mixed up and wants to know why Reggie is obsessed with toiletries. In fact, it is a tree decorated with toilet seats. Oh, Reggie. I love you so.

George is having her own troubles at work, when she is invited and then uninvited to join the Happy Time Cobras bowling team. It’s the only thing that Delores will curse about and like a sailor at that. The team doesn’t think George can bowl but we discover she’s actually a really good bowler. So is Mandy Patinkin, who seems to bowl strike after strike in this episode. If you watch the camera work, you can see that it is really him.

Unfortunately, there’s no Roxy yet again and very little Mason. But all in all, a really stellar episode. I love the way Rube tells stories and in this episode in particular, the story about the talking drum people of Nigeria. He’s just always captivating. He could talk about paint drying and I’d find it fascinating.

So what did you think? Would you agree that Daisy does, in fact, make the worst roommate? George needs to step up! Put your TwoCents about this episode in the comments! Next week, I’ll be reviewing “Reaper Madness.”
