"Survivor" Recap & Review - "I'm Gonna Fix Her!"

Survivor
“I'm Gonna Fix Her!”

Original Air Date: May 1, 2008

The Top 7 Things I Learned About the Castaways of Survivor: Micronesia

1. Alexis thought she was sitting pretty. She won the Reward Challenge and got to go for a swim in a jellyfish lake with her brother. Then the majority agreed to vote Amanda off the island. Her big mistake: picking Amanda to go to Exile Island with a chance to find the third Hidden Immunity Idol.

2. Amanda is a good actress. When she learned that the Hidden Immunity Idol was hidden at camp, she returned from Exile Island telling everyone she didn’t have it (which, technically, was true) and then got Parvati to cover for her when she dug the idol up. Then, at Tribal Council, she looked so defeated and sad… that is until Jeff asked if anyone had the Hidden Immunity Idol and would like to play it. The Jury was going nuts!

Keep on Learning...

    3. Cirie was actually honest for once in this game. She flat out told Amanda she was voting for her and gave some pretty great reasons for it. That might have bought her some points with Amanda, even though she voted for her.

    4. Erik won Immunity then got called out by Amanda at Tribal Council for being too self-serving (Well, duh! Has she ever SEEN the game?). If he doesn’t win Immunity next week, he’s probably gone.

    5. James got a cut on his finger that got grossly infected (and I use both definitions of the word gross here). He was given no choice and was removed from the game. He will, however, sit on the Jury.

    6. Natalie thinks she is in control and had her sights set on Erik. When he won Immunity, she made a play to get Cirie voted out (interesting) but went with the majority and voted for Amanda.

    7. Parvati was voted “castaway who thinks they’re in control of the game but aren’t” at the Reward Challenge. This made her very suspicious and primed her for assisting Amanda in her diabolically wonderful plan. She voted for Alexis with Amanda, claiming it was a throw-away vote just because she and Amanda were such good friends. Those two small votes shook the game when Amada played the Hidden Immunity Idol and Alexis got sent to the Jury.

What do YOU think? Did you shout for joy when Amanda played the Hidden Immunity Idol? Do you think Natalie is a bit too confident (and crazy-eyed)? Who will be the next to leave the game because of an injury? Give us your Two Cents… we won’t spend it all in one place.

  2. I think I see a future band name ... "The Hidden immunity Idols".

    Great review, Rachel.

  3. The look on Parvati's face when they voted her the one who mistakenly thinks they're in control of the game was priceless. I was starting to think that dopey smile was permanent. And Natalie sure is crazy-eyed. She freaks me out. I adore Erik but he's definitely going home the second he stops winning Immunity.

  4. Ok, Natalie...looks exactly like the Grinch. Seriously.

Also, well played, Amanda. Thank goodness someone had the sense to play the damn idol when they had it!

Alexis' ousting was priceless. I'm in it for Cirie to win it.
