The Top 4 Things I Learned About the Castaways of Survivor: Micronesia
1. Amanda played a different kind of game than the other three women and she is proud of what she did. She won Immunity, guaranteeing her a spot in the final three, but then tarnished it a bit when Jeff threw a wrench in the works at Tribal Council and eluded to the fact that there would be a final TWO and not a final three. She confronted Cirie as to her “rank” in the alliance because she was upset that Cirie thought she was at the bottom (which, really, she was). Amanda completely broke down as a result of their fight. Poor girl has been in the jungle for 78 days of the past three months (she came to Micronesia right after her stint on Survivor: China) and it really got to her. I hope she can hold it together enough to win the million.

2. Cirie saw the writing on the wall and got nervous about whether or not she would be in the final three. The other girls were nervous that if Cirie got to the final three, she would win the whole thing. That confused me: Cirie made just as many people angry as Parvati and Natalie did. Why would she get more votes that someone like Amanda who was loyal to her alliances? She got mad at Amanda for questioning her feelings on the matter during Tribal Council and I have to agree with her (Cirie). No one has ever said that they wouldn’t eventually vote for her, especially if it came down to a final two instead of a final three.
3. Natalie was the last fan standing and I have to respect her (just a bit) for that. She, of course, quietly explored her options as to weaseling her way into the final three, but in the end, her torch was snuffed and she joined the Jury as the last member (or is she?...)
4. Parvati felt that Cirie would be a bigger threat when it came time to face the Jury and lobbied a little for Natalie. But the alliance between herself and Amanda and Cirie held strong and they made it to the final three. She told the others that there is “no way there’ll be a final two” instead of a final three and Cirie said she jinxed it. When the three went to what they thought was their last Tree Mail, they were shocked to learn that after they honored the memories of their fallen Survivors, they were to report to the final Immunity Challenge. It’s going to a final two, people.
Part II
The Top 3 Things I Learned About the Castaways of Survivor: Micronesia
1. Amanda won Individual Immunity again and was faced with what she calls the toughest decision of the game. Going with her gut feeling, she decided to go in front of the Jury with the person she thought she could beat: Parvati. I totally agreed with the decision, but when it was time for the Jury to question the final two, I got nervous. It seems that the cast-offs felt differently about Amanda than I had hoped. Some were bitter with her, some thought she sailed on through on the coattails of Parvati’s diabolical plans. I wonder if they could vote after watching the entire season as we did, if their vote would have changed.
2. Cirie stumbled in the Immunity Challenge and lost her shot at a million. I think that the only way she could have gotten into the final two was if she had won Immunity because surely, Parvati would have taken Amanda as well. One of the saddest moments came when, after she was voted off the island, she spoke to the camera: “Mom, Dad, I’m sorry. I tried my hardest. It just wasn’t good enough.”
3. Parvati got creamed during the Jury’s questioning. She really played a diabolical, aggressive game, and most didn’t appreciate it. The worst was when Ozzy ripped into her, on the verge of tears, about hoe she destroyed their friendship but even worse, how she robbed him of 14 days he could have spent with Amanda (Aaawwwww!). He then declared his love for Amanda and I thought the girl had it in the bag. I was wrong. In NYC, when Jeff read the votes, Parvati’s 5 beat Amanda’s 3 and the girl who lied the whole time beat the girl who was loyal to the promises she made. I guess the jury felt the Sole Survivor had to be sneaky rather than smart. Maybe sneaky IS smart. (SIGH)
“The Reunion”
The Top 3 Things I Learned About Survivor: Micronesia from The Reunion show:
1. Amada said that after 78 days in the jungle (the most of any Survivor) she has trust issues. She and Ozzy are still together, however. Yay!
2. Ozzy said of his anger at Parvati “I can understand now how a person can kill in the heat of passion.” He also called Jeff out about his own relationship with a former Survivor cast member (Julie from Survivor: Vanuatu – I heard they just broke up) when asked about his relationship with Amanda: “Jeff, you know how these Survivor girls are!”
3. James said he brightened a funeral-goers day by taking pictures with her sans shirt: “My mom loved your abs!”
What do YOU think? Did the right person win? How much do you hate the Jury questioning portion of the finale? Are you excited about next season? Give us your Two Cents… we’ll use it to buy Ozzy and Amanda a wedding present.
Mark you calendars… Survivor: Gabon “Earth’s Last Eden” begins 18 September 2008.
Hell no, the right person didn't win. Cirie should have won..or Amanda, but NOT Parvati. Well, at least it wasn't Natalie. We didn't need to hear her talk about flossing with someone's jugular anymore.
ReplyDeleteI, too, thought Amanda had it in the bag and did the right thing by taking Parv.
And Gosh, I thought Ozzy was getting ready to propose!
Can't wait till next season.
