Well, I was shocked at the Supernatural Season Finale. We find something very interesting out about Sam. And after a year of trying to save Dean, time is up as we find out the fate of the witty Winchester brother. After a nice little montage of what has lead us to where we are, the last 30 hours of Dean’s life begins.
While Dean seems like he doesn’t care whether or not he dies, we see a dream he has of his death. He is running through the woods and is finally tracked down and mulled by a hellhound. Sam wakes him up and we see that they are researching hellhounds. Bobby has a way to find Lillith. As Dean looks at Sam, his face distorts (remember this later on).

Bobby does a ritual and they find out that they are headed to Indiana. Sam wants to do what he can to save Dean, including asking Ruby for help. Dean is mad that Sam would even bring her up. And Sam, being who he is, goes behind Dean’s back and summons her anyway. He asks her if she knew about Lillith, and she said yes. Sam was mad but she explains that he would not do what needed to be done if he has known sooner. Dean is too smart not to expect this, and shows up. He also has a surprise waiting for Ruby. So when he sees her, he picks a fight. And although she totally kicks his ass, he gets her knife and she is stuck in a sacred circle and cannot escape.

In a nice, happy looking neighborhood, we see an older man going to get his mail and talking to his neighbor. When he leaves, he shakes his neighbor’s hand. As the neighbor looks at his hand, he realizes there is a not and it says, “Help us.” Lillith has found a new little girl to possess. The babysitter is dead and the family is freaked out, but they do what they can to keep her happy. This apparently means making cake and pretending her birthday is every day. Sounds like a typical eight-year-old, right? Too bad she is a demon! As they celebrate her “birthday” sweet little Lillith confronts grandpa about asking the neighbor for help. She asks here parents if they knew. They both say no. Way to help grandpa out. Lillith proceeds to break his neck with her mind, remind me not to piss her off.

AS this happens, Sam and Dean are on their way and have a brotherly moment singing to Bon Jovi. I LOVE THIS SHOW! A cop pulls them over, but Dean knows it is a demon, because he can see the true faces of Demons. Remember when I told you to remember Dean seeing Sam’s face distort? This is how Dean sees ALL demons, if you catch my drift.

They arrive at the house where Lillith is and Dean notices that nearly the whole neighborhood is filled with demons. Bobby rigs the sprinkler system with holy water and Ruby shows up to get he knife back. As the demons figure out what is happening, the sprinkler system kicks on, stopping them from getting to Dean, Sam and Ruby. They get inside and cautiously search the house. Sam found “Lillith” and her mom laying in her room and just as Sam goes to kill her (with the encouragement of mommy dearest) Dean says, it is not her. Lillith has jumped bodies, but where is she now? Unfortunately, they find out the hard way that she now possesses Ruby. As the clock strikes 12:00, the threesome flee the hellhounds. Ruby insists that she can fight them off if they give her the knife. Dean realizes that Lillith is in her and he should have noticed sooner. She throws them aside and taunts them. AS she opens the door to let the hellhounds in, Sam watches in horror as Dean is ripped apart and Lillith is coming for him. But something stops her. We don’t find out what it is, but as Sam goes to kill her, Lillith escapes. There, Dean and Ruby lie dead. As Sam goes to Dean, we see him in Hell, chained up, calling Sam’s name.

So what now? Is Dean really dead? Probably not. My theory is he will either come back:
    A) as a Demon
    B) Sam has healing powers and will bring him back.

I loved this episode. What do you think? Leave your Two cents! See you next season, but watch for me this summer with my Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD club.

  2. That finale messed me up pretty badly. I can't get it out of my head. It's funny because people at work were talking about other finales, like House and how shocking they were and I'm just like, "After Supernatural, nothing's really phasing me."

It's going to be a long summer.

  3. Oh, I don't think Dean is gone for good! He will be back, there is not way they are getting rid of the better half of the show (in my opinion). I know I can't wait for next season!

  4. Nobody does finale's like Kripke. Supernatural's Season #1 finale was beyond shocking, Season #2's just killed me.... Now, Season #3 I thought I was prepared for the worst. I expected to think that Sam & Dean & maybe Bobby were dead at the end. I expected to have to wait until next season to find out that 'they all lived'... However, Kripke put a wrench in that by KILLING DEAN horribly and OMG Sam survived Lilith... How???? How am I going to wait the whole summer to find out. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

  5. I thinkt hat we are going to find out that there is something special about Sam. He stopped Lillith, and it wouldn't suprise me if he had the ability to bring back Dean.
