This week, House acts like a neurotic fan boy when he kidnaps his favorite soap star because he’s convinced he has a brain tumor. Evan “Brock” Greer is naturally reluctant when some crazy doctor says he wants to run tests on him, but agrees to one test that comes out fine. House says Brock needs an MRI and when he refuses and tries to make his escape on the elevator, House jabs him in the jugular with a tranq, which in itself, might be the most awesome thing I’ve seen on TV since the 12th of forever.

Also, while all the kidnapping and testing is going on, the hospital is being inspected by a nerdy little mop top guy in glasses (on whom I think Cuddy is crushing, as am I) so she has Forman, Cameron and Chase keep an eye on House so he doesn’t do anything to screw up their inspection and cause them to all lose their jobs.

When Evan wakes up from his drug sleep, he tries to get away but he has numbness in his leg and can’t walk. They run tests and Evan whines about being a soap star and how he wants to do something to inspire people. Frankly, quit your complaining guy. You’re an actor who has a good job. Suck it up. You could be waiting tables, jerk.

Wilson and Amber shop for a new mattress. She gets a page then leaves and passive-aggressively tells Wilson to get whichever mattress he wants. House translates for Wilson: “If you love me, you’ll buy the one I want.” House is always right. Except, Wilson gets the one Amber wanted and it’s not right because she believes he did it just because it was easier. Apparently he pulled those same moves with his ex-wives and he ended up resenting them for it and she doesn’t want to end up that way. Wilson really wants a waterbed. They get one and he hates it.

House takes a visit to the set of the soap and sees the ungodly amount of sunflower seeds Evan is eating. He talks with Evan’s love interest on the show. Apparently she and Evan had a date but he couldn’t seal the deal, so to speak. House thinks Evan is impotent and shuts him in a sleep-monitoring room with a grotty magazine to see if anything happens but Evan goes into cardiac arrest. That must be some awesome porn.

House thinks its Evan’s thyroid, then it’s auto-immune and then Evan starts running a 106 degree fever and reciting lines from the previous season of the soap and goes into a coma. After staring at some hideous bed sheets House epiphanies that Evan is allergic to chrysanthemums and wants to start him on a lot of steroids. Cuddy doesn’t stop him even though her job is on the line. She even runs a blood test that says Evan isn’t allergic, but when they go in to see how the corpse is, Evan is better. Only he’s not allergic to flowers, he’s allergic to the tonic water he drinks on the show.

All-in-all, this was a better episode than last week’s. I’m still not sure why I should be caring about Wilson and Amber, but ok. What say you? House offered Cameron her old job back. Think she should take it?
