Oh Supernatural, how I love thee….. Let me count the ways: 1)Dean, 2) Sam, 3) you scare the pants off me, 4) but you make me laugh while you do it. After a slight hiatus because of the strike, Sam and Dean are back joined by a couple familiar faces: Ed and Harry, the ghost hunters. The Ghostfacers have taken over Supernatural. The team includes Ed and Harry from Season 1’s episode Hellhouse, Ed’s adopted sister Maggie, Spruce and Corbett (both called by their last names). They even have a theme song. I don’t know about you guys, but having Ghostfacers take over Supernatural was ingenious on the writer part, what do you think?

The team is tackling a haunting a the Morton Mansion that only happens once every four years, so they fondly refer to it as the leap year haunting. The Ghostfacer team is setting up as “police officers” come in to arrest them for trespassing. Too bad Ed recognized Sam and Dean and knows they are not cops.

In true Blair Witch Project style, he team begins to search the mansion for supernatural any presence with camcorders. Suddenly it gets cold and Ed and Cobett see a figure being shot. Sam and Dean figure out that it is a loop and the many people who have gone missing through the years are the ghost responsible for the haunting. And who is responsible for the missing people is someone Sam and Dean don’t want to mess with. They try to convince the group to get out, but they won’t go.

When they realize that Corbett is not with them, his screaming is the last they hear of him as he seems to have just disappeared. At this point, they decide it is time to leave. Nice of them to just leave Corbett behind, huh? Unfortunately for them, it is too late. They are trapped in the house that was owned by a sicko who liked to bring home dead bodies from the morgue to play with. Nice touch don’t you think?
As things start to go wacky again, Sam disappears. Probably one of my favorite parts is next as Ed finds Harry and Maggie, his bestest friend and his best sister kissing. You know the one who he kept referring to as adopted! Let the geek fight begin! I had to laugh at how sad they looked fighting.

While this is going on, Sam and Cobertt wake up in a bomb shelter at a birthday party. It sounds nice, too bad they were the only ones alive there! Daggett, the party’s host tells them it will stop hurting soon as he puts something into Cobertt’s head, killing him. At this point with the tension high, the song “It’s My Party and I’ll Cry if I Want To” playing in the background as Daggett puts a party hat on Sam’s head is just great writing! Dean and Spruce find the bomb shelter and bust in as Daggett is about to make Sam one of is eternal party guests.

Cobertt appears as a ghost in a death loop to Harry, Ed and Maggie. They are protected by a salt circle, but Ed insists he wants to leave it in order to help him be released. As soon as they step out, things start to happen. Ed jumps back in, but Harry insists that the only person who can help him is Ed because Cobertt had feeling for him. He leaves the safety of the circle again to tell him how much he mattered and they love him. Cobertt suddenly snaps out of it and realizes what is happening. They ask for his help as he disappears. He arrives just in time to attack Daggett as he is attacking Sam, Dean and Spruce.

As they leave the next morning, Ed and Harry talk of losing a friend but gaining allies. I wonder if Sam and Dean actually gave them their phone number. As we jump back to current time, they all gather together to view the final product. Sam and Dean leave as Ed and Harry insist that Sam and Dean are jealous of them. The joke is on Ghostfacers, however, when Sam and Dean leave an electromagnet behind, wiping out all of their equipment and any evidence that they had.

I enjoyed the episode and give it an “A”. I love the humor they added to the show with how intense of an episode it is.
