The Office has finally returned. As you probably know from reading spoilers, cast interviews, and watching previews, tonight's episode takes place at Michael's condo. Michael invites Jim, Pam, Angela, and Andy over for dinner with himself and Jan. We learn ALOT about Michael's relationship with Jan living in his condo.
During a tour of the condo we see that Jan has an office and a workplace to make candles. In the bedroom there is a camcorder setup on a tripod. Jim and Pam notice a small bed like setup at the foot of the normal bed. Jan has space issues and that is exactly where Michael sleeps. Michael displayed his new 13 inch plasma TV in the living room. Michael attempted to craft a coffee table, but I’m pretty sure a 2 year old would have more success. His Dundies were also on display at the bottom of a shelf.

After Jan attempts to dance with Jim to some music and Jan and Angela both insult Pam in front of her, the group tries their hands at a party game. It turns into an awkward moment for everyone when Michael and Jan get into an argument about how unfunny Michael can be. Jim then tries to get out of the party by saying he got a text from his landlord about a flood at his apartment. When Michael says Pam can stay, Pam convinces Michael that the party is more important than Jim’s stuff. Michael agrees, Jim stays, crisis averted for Pam. Back to the party games. Back to Michael being unfunny. Back to the awkwardness.
At one point, awkward silence becomes arguing between Michael and Jan after Michael offers his coat to Pam when she looks cold. This time the arguments hold a very strong undertone of complete hate between Michael and Jan. Back to awkward. After Jan calls for a girls trip to the kitchen and the men retreat to the garage, the doorbell rings. This couldn’t be a return premiere without a twist.
Standing at the door is Dwight…with a female. This makes Jan completely unhappy! Ensue the arguing, back to the awkward. Continue the twist! This is where we go downward. Now the entire ensemble is actually at the dinner table and finally get food. Michael warns Pam that Jan may be trying to poison him with the food, so Michael dips his food in his wine before eating. This enrages Jan, causing Michael to take down a painting in the dining room and putting his St. Paulie Girls neon beer light. To calm down, Jan turns on her crappy music. Michael insults the music, Jan insults Michael’s lack of screenwriting ability, Michael insults Jans candlemaking business, Jan throws a Dundie at the 13 inch plasma TV, and Michael finishes it off by saying, “Good luck paying me back with your zero dollars a year salary plus benefits, babe!” Exit crying Jan. Dinner guests feel awkward as ever. End of dinner party.
Pam and Jim go to a hotdog stand to finally get something to eat…and listen to the Jan’s CD that Jim stole from the condo. The song takes us through the end of the show. Angela and Andy are eating ice cream. Andy dives across the car to steal a lick of Angela’s ice cream. Disgusted, Angela smashes the ice cream cone against the outside of Andy’s car door. Jan is in the living room of the condo with the plasma TV on while trying to glue back together the broken Dundie. Michael goes home with Dwight and we see Dwight drop off his date at a street corner.
Will Michael and Jan get back together? Will Michael survive a night on Schrute Farm? How long is this Andy and Angela thing going to last? Will Jim get any money for Jan’s CD on eBay? So many questions, so little time to answer them. Thank goodness they’re back on TV. What did you think of the new episode?
you did not get the joke about jan and hunter having sex thats why jim and pam took it and jokingly sing along at the end
