I have never been so excited for a season premiere in my life. Fifty-five weeks we’ve waited for this. Fifty-five weeks since we learned who four of the final five cylons were. Fifty-five weeks since we were told that Laura Roslin had cancer again. And fifty-five weeks since Starbuck came back from the dead.

We're back where we left off. Lee and Starbuck flying together. In the CIC, Laura makes sure to tell everyone that this could be a cylon trick. Adama is yelling orders and Tigh stares at him blankly before pulling out a gun and shooting the old man right through the eye. We realize it was just a daydream as Adama gets all pilots, even the Nuggets, up in the air. This includes Anders. Chief and Anders have a moment where he worries that he'll turn his gunfire against the fleet. He repeats to himself that he's Samuel T. Anders, and Athena walks up. "Who else would you be?" If she doesn't recognize him as a cylon, then maybe the raiders won't. As people run through the halls, a cult of crazy women guide Gaius through the halls to an old part of the Battlestar that no one uses. In the air, Anders is having a hard time flying when a raider suddenly turns right on him and scans him with its laser beam eye. Suddenly, the raiders back off, the basestars retreat, and the cylons disappear.

    Opening credits: 39,698 survivors.

The fleet has jumped away to safety and Gaius is being shown to a room that's set up like, well, a cult full of crazy women. Perfect for him.

On the hanger deck, Starbuck gets out of her viper and everyone gathers around, completely wary. Starbuck finally realizes how much time has passed when Anders shows up in a pilot's uniform. Apparently, she thinks she was only gone for six hours.

Back at the harem, Head Six appears. She's taunting, and Gaius complains that the only people who want him are crazy. Six gets him down into a praying position, with his hands clasped and his head tilted up. One of the women sits next to him and explains that praying to the Gods makes her feel empty. As she shoves her boobs at Gaius, Six is in the background telling him what to say; that the Gods are false and that there is only one true God. Gaius and the woman feel God together, then get naked.

Starbuck, Adama, Laura, Tory, and Lee are all in Bill's quarters going back and forth over how and why Starbuck's story doesn't make sense. Laura is a little irate as she asks questions. Starbuck can only remember a giant gas planet, taking pictures, and coming back. In the next scene, Chief is looking over Starbuck's viper. It looks showroom new, and there's no record on the computer of where it's been. Laura declares Starbuck needs to be put in the brig and it sounds like everyone but Lee is on board with the 'Starbuck is a cylon' theory.

In the harem, one of the members of the cult brings in her sick little boy. He's dying and she wants Gaius to pray over him. The woman looks up at Gaius tearfully. "I guess the one true God doesn't want him to live.”

Never has there been a more guilty looking group of people than when Tigh, Anders, Tory and Chief are gathered in a room. They all wonder when and how they're going to be 'switched on' to hurt the fleet, and Tigh resolves that he will never, ever hurt anyone. None of them will, he says resolutely. Yeah right, like Boomer.

Laura is in the brig with the Six. She wants to know who the cylons are. Six says that she was programmed to never think about them, and Laura argues. Finally, Six states that she can feel the other cylons because they’re close.

Adama and Starbuck are standing side by side. She explains that finding Earth is a feeling, not something she can point out on a map. Every time they jump away she loses that feeling, and the President is leading them in the wrong direction. Adama refuses to go against the President, and it's obvious that he's having some inner turmoil about what to believe. She tries to plead with him about the path to Earth. Adama replies that he can't afford to trust her.

After the break, Lee and Adama are talking. Lee's position is that Starbuck is telling the truth, but Adama states that he still agrees with the President. This, apparently, is not what Lee wants to hear. "Is she still staying with you?" Wait, what? "Just until we find a place to put her up until she finishes her Diloxin treatment.” The President lives with Bill. Nice. Adama offers Lee's wings back, and Lee explains that he wants to work for the government. Adama doesn't look amused, just annoyed that he has to listen to Lee.

Back at the harem, Gaius pleads with God. He wants God to kill him, not the child. It's the only genuine thing Gaius has ever done. He goes to the bathroom with one of the woman so that he can shave, and another man walks in. In a matter of seconds it's revealed that the man’s son is dead and that Gaius' police force shot him on New Caprica. The man obviously wants vengeance as someone else comes in and holds the woman so she can't run for help. Head Six appears and asks Gaius if he meant it when he prayed that God should take his life rather than the boy's. He tearfully says yes and starts pleading that his life be taken. Six looks proud and then the crazy harem woman finds a pipe and starts whaling on the men trying to kill Gaius. They escape to find that Derek is awake and smiling and no longer sick.

Starbuck and Anders are in the hallway of despair, looking at her own picture on the wall next to Kat's. The camera pans around to show that Starbuck is flanked by military. Clearly, no one trusts her. She starts questioning what happened to her back on Caprica when she was experimented on. Anders explains that if she were a cylon, she would have been from the start, but he would still love her. Starbuck laughs. "You are a better person than I am, Sam. Because if I found out that you were a cylon, I'd put a bullet between your eyes." Heh. A jump is completed and Starbuck snaps a little. "It's Roslin. Adama won't listen to me as long as she's..." The military jumps all over that, but Starbuck knocks them all out. She asks Anders where the President is and he won't tell her, so she knocks him out too.

It turns out Laura is asleep in Bill's bed. Starbuck blows up the hatch and walks in. Laura doesn't have her glasses, and she can't see what's happening until it's too late and Starbuck is right there with the gun. She cocks it and points it at Laura.

    …To be continued…

    WAIT WHAT?

I just waited 55 weeks to have to sit on the edge of my seat for another week? How is this part going to end? Anymore thoughts on who that final cylon is?

  2. I wanna know who the final cylon is, but I'm more curious as to these things:
Did the cylon raider run away because of Anders or did Anders unconsciously tell him to run away? Or was he recognized or triggered or imprinted with new orders?

If Kara is having such issues, why didn't she and Lee steal a raptor and go back? Maybe if Lee saw Earth he could convince the old man to go back, cylon suspicions be damned.

  3. I know. Everything about this premiere just make me squee my little pants off. XD

And I STILL want to believe that Ellen Tigh is the final Cylon. XD How AWESOME would that be?
