And we’re back at Sona, as Michael is hauled off for questioning in the matter of the latest failed break attempt. The new General is prepared to go to any lengths to get answers, and Michael is confined to a hothouse in the Panamanian sun as Mahone is returned to the prison.

Inside, Bagwell cuts a deal with Whistler to be included in the break plans. For his part, Bagwell will have someone do away with Lechero’s lieutenant, Sami, who is becoming tired of being second in command. Bagwell first approaches Mahone, who refuses. But when Bellick is challenged to a fight and responds by basically poisoning his opponent, Bagwell seems to have a new candidate.

Outside, Gretchen arranges for a brief meeting between Linc and LJ to keep Linc motivated. As Sucre laments his financial situation, she approaches him with an offer for him to stay close to Linc, but it turns out to be just a ploy.

In exchange for getting out of the box, Michael tells the General his story, including Whistler’s part in the break attempt. Whistler names Gretchen, and she is brought in for questioning (Central American style), which makes the General suspicious of her background. She offers to take him to where LJ is held, but once there, she gets the drop on him and his men and kills them.

Sucre is asked to smuggle something else into the prison, but when he asks the price, his benefactor lets him know that payment will not be the motivation any more. Sucre smuggles in the package, which ends up in Sami’s cell. This time, it is a gun, and it is Sami’s way to eliminate Lechero.

Overall, a good return to the airwaves, but it’s just to set the table for things to come over the next few weeks.

Prison Break airs Mondays at 8 PM on FOX. Episodes can also be viewed at the FOX website.
