At the top of the episode, Samantha checks her answering machine messages to find a barrage of voice hate mail. Ok…we get it. Samantha was a jerk and everyone hated her. Got it, kids? Don’t worry, if you missed it, there’ll be plenty of further opportunities to catch up. After having had enough, Sam changes her outgoing greeting to “I’M SOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRYYYYYYY!” Oh, Sam, if only it were that easy.

As Dena (who is totally adorable) and Sam catch up on how they lost touch over the years (turns out Sam ditched Dena when they were twelve years old for some popular cheerleaders), Sam’s doorman says the cleaners dropped off something for her. Turns out, it’s a bridesmaid’s dress. Also, the cleaners would like Sam to use the dry cleaning bag as a toy and, you know, suffocate herself with it, if at all possible.
Sam is determined to go to the wedding even though it’s the same day because she’s convinced somebody likes her. We’ll see. Samantha, Dena and Sam’s parents go to the wedding at a posh hotel. Samantha runs into Todd before the wedding has started. Turns out, he’s the photographer and Sam got him the job. Sam also runs into the bride who promptly throws a drink into her face. The bride thinks Sam is a big old jerk and uninvited her. Go figure.
Andrea, in a ginormous wedding hat looking a lot like Elphaba from “Wicked”, tells Sam the reason she was banned from the wedding was because Sam started a pool for betting on how long the marriage would last. Oops. Andrea says she can’t side with Sam because she just got an in with Valerie the bride and they’re loaded. Nice. Dena talks Sam out of high-tailing it out of there and convinces Sam that she can’t run away from everyone who dislikes her. Sam decides Dena is right and promises that after she’s convinced Valerie she’s sorry, Sam and Dena are going to get their party on at the reception.
Sam successfully gets back in Valerie’s good graces and Valerie insists that Sam be back in the wedding party and sit at the head table. Sam ditches Dena. Again.
Dena sits at the loser’s table with Valerie’s sister who got bumped from the head table by Samantha. Dena proceeds to drain all the wine glasses at the table and some of the bottles too. Meanwhile, Sam is having a grand time at the head table as Todd takes some candid photos of Sam longingly. He and Sam dance and it looks like Todd likes the new and improved Sam. Andrea breaks up the dance so Sam can head over for the toasts when they spy Valerie and the best man coming out of a broom closet. And…flashback! Sam remembers Valerie’s bachelorette party when Sam and Andrea convinced Valerie that it’s only cheating if you get caught. Back in the now, Andrea confirms that Valerie and the best man slept together.
Dena and Todd talk about being ditched by Sam. Dena, who has been hitting on Todd all episode, plants a big drunken kiss on him. Go Dena!
Toast time. Best man gives his toast and then Valerie prods Sam to give a toast. She does, basically outing Valerie at the same time. Another bridesmaid cops to sleeping with the groom and chaos ensues. Sam runs out of there and meets Todd out by the cake table. Sam says she’s getting Dena and leaving, but Todd says Dena went home.
Sam climbs up the trellis up to Dena’s window to apologize. Sam tells Dena that if the old Sam emerges, Dena needs to let her know. They make up and have cocoa like they did when they were twelve. Todd flips through pictures from the wedding on his iMac. He lingers on one of Sam and can’t decide whether to click “Delete” or “Save”. The camera focuses on his hand and he clicks, but we don’t see which one. I think he’s the saving type.
