Well, after a phenomenal pilot episode, “Pushing Daisies” is still living up to the hype. This episode begins with more background on the childhood of Chuck and Ned. As the trend seems to be, there is magnificent sights to been seen throughout the episode. Obviously, there is some money involved in the visual department of this production…but that’s getting off topic. Chuck and Ned are put into their respective childhood prisons with Chuck going to live with her shut-in aunts and Ned being sent to a private school by his father. Overall, this was some good insight into the pair’s upbringing.

Now to the present. This brings us to Olive, the girl from The Pie Hole who is pining over Ned. The poor woman, now realizing that she has even less a chance with Ned (since the resurrection of Chuck), expresses her sadness through a musical number. I won’t bother saying anymore about that. The mystery of this episode is that of an automotive safety engineer named Bernard who was struck by a vehicle. I believe ironic is the word we are all looking for to describe this. Chuck, being the compassionate young (well, for a dead person at least) woman that she is, takes just a bit too much time chatting up the undead client, giving Bernard only enough time to reveal that he was struck by a test dummy. He also mentions that he wants Jeanine to know that he loved her. Jeanine is in the promotions department of Dandy Lion Car Company, the place where he worked.

The trio, Chuck, Ned, and Emerson head over the car Company to investigate. Being that the CEO seems slimy from the get-go, it is not much of a mystery when we find that it was Bernard’s boss who committed this heinous act.

Now, I’m working on a name for Chuck and Ned, and I’m not sure what to use. For all you “Office” fans out there, this is similar to the Jim and Pam = JAM (or PB & J if you’re into Season 4). NUCK? CHED? I guess we’ll come back to that another time. Let me know if any of you have suggestions.

As the episode ends, it is revealed that Ned has fit his car with a Plexiglas barrier that even has a glove-covered hole that so that the two could hold hands while he drives. The two are disgusting in their cuteness and we all love it.

I give this episode 4 out of 5 undead murder victims.
