There’s only one parking spot (how come there aren’t more spots if everyone is carpooling?) and the Odd Quad is in a race for the spot with the Coolers, the Rust Bucket Boys and the Geezer Carpool. Dr. Laird is driving and nabs the spot. The Coolers (led by Scott Thompson, “Kids in the Hall”) congratulate the Odd Quad who they call Laird and the Blowfish. Aubrey is mad because he drives most of the time and he wants it to be Aubrey and the Blowfish, but Laird is the big cheese and there’s no argument from the Blowfish. Laird and the Blowfish do the slow-mo strut past the Girl Carpool and it’s off to work.

That night at Gracen manor, there’s love in the air, but no contacts in Gracen’s eyes. He can’t find a condom in the night table and almost puts earplugs on little Gracen. The next morning Leila (Faith Ford, “Hope & Faith”) suggests that they might not have that problem anymore if Gracen would get “the surgery.” In the living room, Marmaduke (T.J. Miller) is performing a Chinese massage on an old lady. He’s gotten involved in the barter game and thinks he can score a vibraphone with just a seven more barter maneuvers.

Over at Dougie’s (Tim Peper, “Guiding Light”) Aubrey (Jerry Minor) is doing the driving. Dougie’s wife Cindy (Alison Munn, “That 70s Show”) insults Aubrey by telling him that the pre-school he sends his brood to is “too basic” and they want to get their baby into a fancy pre-school.

Laird and the Blowfish are all in the car now and Gracen breaks the news about how Leila wants him to get a vasectomy. Everyone flips out and Dr. Laird tells him that he should get his sperm tested in case he might not need to go under the knife. Laird thinks a guy his age might just be shooting blanks. Everyone brags about who has the highest sperm count and they all have proof except the manly man Dr. Laird.

After work, Dr. Laird and Gracen head to the fertility clinic to get tested. Once back home Leila wants a deposit of her own, but Gracen is running on empty since he just gave at the office. Leila is confused since she was suggesting he get Lasik eye surgery and not a vasectomy. Marmaduke come in carrying bags of vintage wheat. The bartering is ongoing.

Dougie’s baby didn’t make the cut at the fancy pre-school, so Dougie has to come crawling to Aubrey for a recommendation to his “basic” pre-school. Aubrey can’t concentrate on writing the recommendation letter with all the raking he has to do in his yard so Dougie grabs a rake and gets down to business. The lawn looks like it hasn’t been raked in, like, EVER.

Dr. Laird is about to perform a check up on a patient when he gets the call from the clinic that he has a below average sperm count. He kicks out his patient and then everyone in the waiting room. Gracen hears the commotion from across the hall and hangs up from his clinic phone call to see what all the commotion is about. Dr. Laird is depressed because he’s not the man he thought he was and really freaks out when Gracen tells him that he’s in the top 2% of all the men tested in the country for sperm count.

In the car, the gang is headed to Dr. Laird’s favorite lunch spot, when Gracen says he’s feeling like grabbing a light lunch at the cafeteria back at the office. Dougie and Aubrey second that and they turn around. Back at the office words has gotten around that Gracen is the alpha dog now and the Coolers greet them as Gracen and the Blowfish. Laird is pissed and tries to out man Gracen at ordering coffee and tipping the barista. Gracen leads the slow-mo walk past the girl group and he’s the king of the world.

Dougie is still working for Aubrey back home and Aubrey didn’t think he was getting enough out of Dougie so he brought in some competition – another neighborhood guy who wants to get his kid into the pre-school who only have one spot left for this year.
Over at Gracen manor Marmaduke has gone wild with the bartering and the house is filled with stuffed bears, jukeboxes, slot machines, pinball games and what looks like an entire tiki bar. Gracen puts his foot down and orders him to get rid of everything. Marmaduke sees that something is different about his dad and must abide by his wishes.

Back in the car, Dougie asks Gracen a question about his tooth hurting whenever he rides an elevator. Dr. Laird flips out, because he is the dentist. Gracen and the Blowfish are vying for the last parking place again and again the Geezer carpool is in the way. Dr. Laird takes it upon himself to win back the alpha dog position by taking on the geezers but the entire gang end up getting their asses kicked by the old guys.

Laird explains that he’s jealous of Gracen and his family and that his manliness is all he’s got, aside from his “devastating handsomness.” Gracen tells him that if he has a low sperm count that only means he has to have more sex if he wants to get a girl pregnant. Laird except it as a victory and the Blowfish do one more slow-mo walk by the girl carpool.

Before the episode ends all four of the odd quad are at the clinic. They all come out carrying their sample cups except Dr. Laird, who already knows the bad news and doesn’t need a repeat of the last test. They walk towards the counter, but it’s empty and the sexy nurse comes out of the room where Dr. Laird was supposed to be taking care of business.

Back at Gracen Manor, Marmaduke has gotten rid of all his bartered items and is playing his vibraphone. Gracen notices his golf clubs are missing and Marmaduke admits he might have traded them for the vibraphone.

This is the funniest and best show of the 2007 season. 5 out of 5 stars. People should be watching this show.
