Bionic Woman
"Faceoff"

Original Air Date: October 17, 2007

The theme for episode ‘Faceoff’ is truth and lies…but more so about the lies. Jamie’s up and running down a dark alley and does her bionic woman thing by leaping over a large barbed wire fence, only when she lands damages her foot, well, her toe to be exact. She bounds over to a car and…it’s not a terrorist inside, it’s her bratty younger sister making out with some dude. Jamie’s mad, more so about the fact that her sister lied to her face and said she was staying at a friend’s house.

The theme for episode ‘Faceoff’ is truth and lies…but more so about the lies. If you’re wondering how Evil Bionic woman, Sarah Corvus, spends her free time when she’s not pouting or kicking ass, wonder no more. Sarah’s playing a game of poker with some shady characters when ex lover Jae bursts in and Sarah surrenders pretty easily.

Jonas gives Jamie and Antonio their next assignment which is saving an American doctor who’s being held by terrorists in Paraguay. Just before she leaves, Sarah Corvus resembling Hannibal Lector is wheeled in, just in time to give Jamie a glimpse of what can happen when the technology in her starts failing.

Jonas offers Sarah a deal. He’ll fix her with upgrades once she reveals where Anthros is hiding. Sarah doesn’t trust Jonas and tells him so. Jonas sends Jae in to talk some sense into her and Sarah finally concedes with “prove that he has the technology to fix me and I’ll tell him where Anthros is”.

On the way to Paraguay Jamie and Antonio begin to talk about the difference between ‘trust’ and ‘full disclosure’. They find the terrorist hideout rather easily and sneak in. Antonio keeps echoing the fact that Jamie needs to trust him, and then he purposefully sets off the alarm and they’re quickly surrounded by gun wielding terrorists. Antonio and Jamie are then taken to the room where they are keeping the American Doctor who is busy trying to decode a flash drive if he wants to live.

Jamie does her thing leaving a half-dozen terrorists dead or unconscious. Antonio finds out that the American doctor didn’t just decode the file, but he read it, which was all about the technology that’s part of Jamie. The problem is that now that the Doctor has read all the files, he’s a liability. Antonio mentions that people will kidnap or kills his brother to make him talk. Antonio plans on leaving him for dead, and an outraged Jamie attacks Antonio and fight until she’s disabled him. Jamie and Doc escape the terrorist HQ but not before Jamie takes a bullet to the shoulder.

The Doc works on getting the bullet out of Jamie’s shoulder and explains what’s going on inside her body. He informs her that the technology is only good for 5 years, after that the bionics shut down, meaning game over and lights out for Jamie. He extracts the bullet and she’s good to go but can hear someone coming. Doc takes the flash drive and hides, and when she goes back to get him, he’s gone. Flash drive and all.

Jamie’s pretty devastated over discovering that she only has 5 years and is pretty pissed about Jonas keeping that from her. He promises her he’ll figure out a way to change that. At home, Jamie’s been caught in a lie by her sister. Jamie tells her that she can’t, she wants to but its part of her job. Her sister makes her promise she won’t leave her. And Jamie does, leaving out the part where she only has 5 years left to make good on it.

Jae and Sarah find out that Jonas was sort of lying, they COULD fix Sarah, but they need the information on the flash drive. Sarah breaks out and the next time we see her she’s at a bar drinking a martini and talking to some guy. The two leave the bar together and I have a feeling we’re going to find out next episode that this is Doc’s brother and Sarah’s going to use him to get that flash drive.
