...Roscoe Lee Browne, actor.

Browne's name didn't jump out at me but his picture sure did. He was on the Cosby Show as an old Professor of Cliff from Hillman. He teamed with Cliff in the episode to beat Cliff's dad and a friend in cards that results in "The rubbing of the head" prize. Browne won an Emmy award for Best Guest Appearance for this role.

Browne passed away at the age of 81 after a long battle with cancer.
