The CW Network announced a fall launch date of September 1 and unveiled the schedule for its 2008-2009 season today at a presentation and party for advertisers, affiliates and national media in the Tent at Lincoln Center. The announcement was made by Dawn Ostroff, President of Entertainment, The CW.

“With shows that everyone is talking about, from `Gossip Girl' and `America's Next Top Model' to our upcoming `90210,' our new lineup has the best Monday-Friday schedule flow we have ever had at The CW,” said Ostroff. “We are zeroed in on our target demo of young women 18-34 with both new and returning series, and each programming block provides a strong promotional platform for the following night. We're confident that the quality of our shows for the fall season will make The CW the destination for young women.”

Lori Loughlin Returns to TV on 90210 Spinoff

Uncle Jesse is doing well on ER, so now it's Aunt Becky's turn.

The Hollywood Reporter has this to say:

"Canadian-born Shenae Grimes has landed the female lead role on the CW's "Beverly Hills, 90210" spinoff. Lori Loughlin also has joined the show, which centers on the Mills, a three-generational Beverly Hills family.

Grimes (Degrassi: The Next Generation) will play the family's teenage daughter Annie Mills, which attends West Beverly Hills High School. Loughlin will play the mom, Celia Mills, a former Olympic Games medalist in cycling."

Hilary Duff in 90210 Spin-Off?

E!'s maven of TV Scoop, Kristin, has exclusive information that the CW is trying to get Hilary Duff to star in their 90210 spin-off.

"According to sources, Hilary's potential character is that of Annie Mills. As I reported last month, Annie is a Beverly Hills High student who is into theater acting, just like her predecessor. But instead of Color Me Badd, she’s listening to emo bands. She yearns to fit in with the alternative crowd and leans a lot on her adopted brother, Dixon, too."

With only a year left to live, Dean decides to live life to the fullest and exhibits a carefree attitude that troubles Sam, who is trying to find a loophole in the deal. Bobby (Jim Beaver) tells the brothers about a sighting in Nebraska that turns out to be seven demons that are the actual manifestations of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Jenny D's TwoCents: In the Season finale, Dean deals his life away to get Sam back. Ellen is still alive. Sam, Dean, Ellen and Bobby keep the gates of Hell from opening up permanately. But they managed to let out a couple hundred demons. Oh yeah, and with a little help from Dad, the Winchester boys finally kill the Demon who killed their mom. Things should be interesting in Season 3. Dean has 1 year to live and they are adding 2 female characters to the show. Dean wasn't real carefull with his life and the choices he made before, I bet things will get even more interesting when he thinks he has nothing to lose. Look to see a very wild and crazy Dean doing a lot of things he shouldn't be doing. I am hoping that Sam will finally get the girls this season too.

On Tuesday, September 25, following a new episode of BEAUTY AND THE GEEK, The CW's highly anticipated new series REAPER (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) makes its debut. This humor-filled adventure is the story of a 21-year-old slacker named Sam (Bret Harrison, "The Loop," "Grounded for Life") who learns that his parents sold his soul to Satan (Ray Wise, "24," "The Closer") before he was born, forcing him into a new life as the devil's bounty hunter, collecting the evil souls who have escaped from Hell.
