This week was all about beauty, passion, sensuality, and ferocity during the Viennese Waltz and the Pasa Doble. The competition is getting harder as the weeks go on, as we’re starting to lose the lowest competitors. What was once the middle is now closer and closer to the bottom. So, who captured the hearts of the judges and who floundered miserably? Let’s take a look.

  1. Star: Chuck Wicks (country star)
    Partner: Julianne Hough
    Dancing: the Viennese Waltz
    Len: 8
    Bruno: 8
    Carrie Ann: 7
My rating: 7. He wanted to bring himself out of the middle, and he didn’t do it for me. He showed improvement, and he’s starting to step out on his own, but there are still a few problems. He loses focus and gets sloppy in some places, and it’s fairly noticeable considering how well the rest of it is.

    Star: Lawrence Taylor (football player)
    Partner: Edyta Sliwinska
    Dancing: the Pasa Doble
    Len: 7
    Bruno: 7
    Carrie Ann: 6
My rating: 7. The strong and fierce dance of the bullfighters was just what this football player needed to help prove himself. He started off slow and he doesn’t move fluidly all the time, but he worked well with what he had, and it was intense. I liked it.

Star: Shawn Johnson (Olympic gold medalist)
    Partner: Mark Ballas
    Dancing: the Viennese Waltz
    Len: 8
    Bruno: 9
    Carrie Ann: 9
My rating: 9. When Shawn Johnson gets away from gymnastics, and gets back to dancing, she really gets back to dancing. They caught the lyricism and beauty of the Viennese Waltz, and it was wonderful to watch.

    Star: Melissa Rycroft (Bachelor Star)
    Partner: Tony Dovolani
    Dancing: the Pasa Doble
    Len: 8
    Bruno: 9
    Carrie Ann: 8
My rating: 9. There was a little slip up and you could see it on her face when she knew she messed up, but overall it was fantastic. There were some mistakes, of course, but not enough to cancel how good it was to me. It was a hard routine, but she did really well and really went for it.

    Star: David Alan Grier
    Partner: Kym Johnson
    Dancing: the Viennese Waltz
    Len: 8
    Bruno: 7
    Carrie Ann: 7
My rating: 7. He was really stiff, and there was just no fluidity at all. He had a couple of nice moves, but it was boring and bland. I agree with Carrie Ann: there’s not enough of a connection between David and Kym moving together.

    Star: Gilles Marini (actor)
    Partner: Cheryl Burke
    Dancing: the Pasa Doble
    Len: 10
    Bruno: 9
    Carrie Ann: 10
My rating: 10. He took his shirt off, and he really knows how to steam the place up, meriting a standing ovation from Carrie Ann and Bruno. It was fierce, passionate, sexy and breath-taking. It was absolutely brilliant and caught the spirit and essence of the Pasa Doble perfectly. The crowd was not pleased with Len’s nine.

    Star: Steve-O (professional Jackass)
    Partner: Lacey Schwimmer
    Dancing: the Viennese Waltz
    Len: 6
    Bruno: 6
    Carrie Ann: 6
My rating: 7. Steve-O turned into a mime, and gave his best dance thus far. He showed amazing improvement and brought more emotion to the table. He turned out a solid performance, finally, and the judges had well-deserved praise for him. The one remaining Steve is determined to stick around. He should have his friends come in to mess around more often.

Star: Ty Murray (cowboy and Rodeo champion)
    Partner: Chelsie Hightower
    Dancing: the Pasa Doble
    Len: 7
    Bruno: 7
    Carrie Ann: 7
My rating: 7. He didn’t do as well this week as he did in the past, which is surprising because he’s a professional bull riding man. He was terribly stiff and robotic and it was awkward and uncomfortable to watch. He’s done so well recently, and it was hard watching him flounder.

    Star: Lil Kim (rapper)
    Partner: Derek Hough
    Dancing: the Viennese Waltz
    Len: 8
    Bruno: 9
    Carrie Ann: 9
My rating: 9. Lil Kim is maintaining her elegance and beauty while dancing. She did a wonderful job. It was fluid and great to watch, while her chemistry with Derek and the way they move together helps her to be even more fabulous.

So there you have it. Gilles continues to be at the top, while Melissa fell a little bit and Shawn climbed back up there. Steve-O, Ty, and Lawrence had the hardest time this week. But who will go home, and who should go home? What are your TwoCents?
