JD goes to a party and has zero game with chicks. Sad. Buddy hangs out at a stripper bar. Classy. Tyra head back to school. Just another day in Dillon.

  1. JD goes to a party and has zero game with chicks. Sad. Buddy hangs out at a stripper bar. Classy. Tyra head back to school. Just another day in Dillon.

So Buddy invested in a strip mall and finds out it went belly up. So he beats the crap out of the guy who he invested with and ends up in jail. Eric shows up but can’t get him out of jail. Tami heads over to tell Lyla daddy is jail bait while Eric goes to Matt’s to pick up Julie.

Matt and Julie are in bed, naked, when Eric shows up. Yeah. They’re totally caught. He walks in. There is screaming and then we see him walk back to the car – say nothing – and drive off with Jules. Matt must be crapping his pants... if he was wearing any.
Tyra shows up at Landry’s in the middle of band practice and asks for his help. He’s totally going to turtle and give it to her too, but his band mates realize he’s a total suck and tell him as much. “It's like you’re a prostitute except you don’t get paid or laid.” Landry finally stands up for himself when she starts getting snarky about him wanting to leave for band practice. He tells her she’s selfish – go Landry! Julie backs Landry up too. In order to prove everyone wrong, Tyra goes out and gets Crucifictorious a gig. Funny scene, even though I still don’t like her.

Lyla stays over at the Taylor’s and Julie tells her about getting caught. Eric tells Tami, who reacts like she’s been shot. This is one of those perfect moments. The way Kyle chandler and Connie Britton handle this scene – this is why this show rocks. Why it’s perfect in its imperfection. Julie confesses to Lyla she’s doesn’t regret doing it she just hates that she’s not going to be daddy’s little girl anymore. The next day Tami brings it up with Julie. Tells her that her punishment is she has to talk about it with her. It’s yet another perfect, perfect scene. The awkwardness and tension and strangeness – all perfect.

At practice Matt can’t look at Coach Taylor. It’s another awesome scene. But has to look both Taylor’s in the eye when he goes to pick up Julie for a date.
The girl JD was gaming (badly) shows up at his house and his parents are unimpressed – especially his dad. He tells JD he’d rather he didn’t have a girlfriend – football is more important. He basically forces JD to go on break with Madison. The dumb rookie does it too. Riggins tells JD that if he keeps letting his dad run his like and can’t make a decision for himself then none of the team will be willing to back him. JD’s mom is ticked too until she sees JD sneaking out with Madison one night. Then she’s thrilled.

Lyla finds out that the money Buddy lost was her college fund. She storms out on him. She moves in with Riggins. Buddy heads over there and keeps pounding on the door until Lyla has to face him. He calls her spoiled and selfish. Lyla says she’s an idiot for standing by him after he cheated and threw away his family. She tells Buddy he does whatever he wants and never asks anyone and wonders why people hate him. When she refuses to keep talking to him and he refuses to go away Tim steps in. The tension between him and Buddy as he gets Buddy to leave is awesome.

The game is on and the refs are completely against the Panthers. There are illegal hits and Eric gets so pissed off he gets a yellow flag and then he gets ejected from the game! Crap! Eric’s new assistant coach Wade Ackman gets all the glory for the win when really, he didn’t do much of anything. I see some coaching drama on the horizon.
We end with Crucifictorious doing pretty good at the gig Tyra gets him. And Tyra falling in love – possibly for real – with him. Uh-oh! Next shot is Buddy trying to call Lyla who ignores his call.

Do you feel bad for Buddy? Do you want Landry and Tyra together – again?
