  1. This week, a little girl named Rosie gets kidnapped when a man pretending to be a cop is let into the apartment by the babysitter. One Good Thing About This Week’s Episode:
    1. The guest stars, namely Ron Eldard. He was fantastic as Geno, the girl’s father and an ex-con with a heart of gold, who is determined to find his daughter. He really sold the whole role to me, so much so that I wish we could see more of him. Dabney Coleman and Burt Young guest starred as well but I feel like they were mostly wasted. Dabney as Frank, Rosie’s grandfather, who has memory problems and speaks in circles, just didn’t do it for me. It’s not his fault. The character was just poorly written. Wallace Shawn also made an appearance, leading to a few Princess Bride jokes amongst the people watching SVU with me. His role seemed more like a glorified cameo and I would have much rather preferred he show up in an episode that focused more on him. It just seemed like a waste of his talent.

Two Bad Things About This Week’s Episode:
    1. Honestly, I thought the plot was weak. I liked Geno’s determination to find his daughter but the whole plotline with Liz, his ex-wife, playing the detectives and running off with her father’s money was ridiculous. It was a lame twist that made the episode look clumsy. I couldn’t help but wonder how much time and money was spent and wasted to shoot in Central Park that day.
    2. Hands down, the twist ending ruined the entire episode. Here you have Geno, a man who finally gets to spend time with his daughter and has a second chance at everything and instead of having a happy ending for once, the twist is that he blows it. Sure, the second twist, if you can call it that, is that he tried to rob the hotel so that he would go back to prison. He wanted Rosie to be taken care of and he didn’t think he could do a good enough job himself. That’s a terrible twist and I wish the episode could have ended with Geno and Rosie leaving for their hopeful, redeemed future and with Stabler admitting he was wrong, as he says, “For once.” Olivia sarcastically replies, “For once?” Exactly, Olivia.

So, what did you think about this week’s episode? Am I being too harsh or did you dislike it too? Let me know your TwoCents in the comments!
