I don’t watch Private Practice but thankfully ABC catches us up quick. We find out right away that Addison is back in Seattle so that Derek can work on her brother who has parasites in his brain. And apparently Izzie is still crazy or blind or both. On with the show!! Oh, Kate Walsh is a knock-out ten and I think you should all know that. Red hair- meow! *smiley face*

Derek does a scan on Addison’s brother’s brain and he has eight parasite-things in there and Derek apparently cannot operate on all of them without rupturing one along the way. At least for the first segment of the show we’re led to believe that Addison’s brother is going to die but I would bet my life’s savings (forty bucks in this economy) that he survives or is saved somehow! Addison gives Derek a thirty second pep-talk and says he has to be a God- just for today- to save her brother.

So, of course, Derek conjures up a way and Addison’s brother is reluctant to do it so Derek basically calls him a coward to convince him otherwise. Derek starts his crazy surgery using some kind of crazy robot arm. He gets one of the eggs, takes it out, and a freaking parasite creeps out it’s like a worm and it was gross!!!!! Derek gets seven of eight but the eighth and final egg breaks and the parasite worm crawls out. He starts to crash almost immediately but Derek has to find the worm- in about three minutes. I predict he will find it. Of course Derek finds the worm!

The woman (Jen) who has the brain aneurysm who ran her husband over with the car is going to have to wait on her surgery because Derek has to work on Addison’s brother. Jen won’t stop freaking out so Alex basically tells her to shut up and hang on (in a nicer way kind of). Jen basically begs Derek to do her surgery that night when he tells her she is scheduled for early the next morning. During her surgery something starts bleeding- a lot- but everything seems to go OK. We cut to see Derek in the bar celebrating but then at the very end of the episode we cut to Jen who is having some kind of attack and Alex screams to page Derek.

Meanwhile, there’s a father and daughter who come in. The father has cancer but apparently the daughter doesn’t know- and the father would like to keep it that way. Come to find out that Hunt was engaged to the daughter- and dumped her with a two-line e-mail! Oh snap Hunt and the ex-fiancé run into each other in the hall with Christina right there! The ex-fiancé apparently thought he was still in Iraq so this is evidently a shocker to her. Apparently even Hunt’s mom does not know that he is back. Pretty soon the dad is coughing up blood and he needs surgery but they still can’t tell the daughter what is really going on.

Looks like during the dad’s surgery there’s a tumor that they have to operate on. They finish the operation successfully and Hunt goes to tell the daughter/ex-fiancé. She wants to know why she only got two lines in an e-mail breaking it off with her. But instead Hunt tells her about her dad’s cancer. Interesting approach I suppose. Later Hunt takes Christina into the break room- Hunt calls his mother once a week but pretends he is in Iraq. A lot of his issue is that he’s a changed man after Iraq and he is desperately avoiding his past.

At the other end of the hospital Izzie arranges a game for her interns to try and get them back into enjoying their jobs. Sadie apparently wants to operate on someone with Pancreatic Cancer by going in through the mouth so she has to redo round one! Sadie continues wandering around and I don’t think she knows anything about medicine at least not in a text book sense. Sadie also cannot find the heart beat of Jen’s baby. She’s really not very good at this doctor thing.

The challenge comes down to Lexi and two of the boy interns whose names I do not know and Lexi wins! As a prize, Lexi gets to scrub in on one of Derek’s brain surgeries. George approaches Sadie about her lack of skills but she lets her ego get in the way. George tries to explain that she could hurt someone but she walks away. George confronts her about it again and says one of them will tell the Chief- so George does. Sadie, when confronted by the Chief, quits and says she would rather quit than lose. Meredith asks her if she cheated her way into the program. Looks like they’re kicking Sadie off the show- I for one will not miss her.

Mark approaches Lexi to congratulate her on winning but if you recall she doesn’t want to be his secret girlfriend- she wants to be his public girlfriend—and I want her to be MY public girlfriend, too!

Here it is your moment of Zen (also known as ‘quote of the episode’):
“And she would look at me the same way Beth does now. Like I’m not there. The only time I don’t feel like a ghost is when you look at me, because you look at me and you see me. You see me- this is me. This is me. Please, Christina, see me. See me.” (Hunt to Christina)
