  1. So JD and Elliot are dating again (as you may have heard), and Dr. Cox has been offered the job of Chief (as you may not have heard) vacated by the every-present (yet retired) Dr. Kelso. I wonder who is going to screw things up first... on to the freak-outs.

Drs Cox and Kelso: The hospital has gone to the dogs without a chief (Janitor in surgery?). Dr. Cox knows that if they don’t get a good leader soon, the whole ship is going to go down. Then a surprise phone call changes things drastically: the board has offered HIM the job.

Thinking it is a great opportunity to make a difference in the world, Dr. Cox is riding high until Dr. Kelso bends his ear for a tick. His words of advice freak out Perry... he won’t be able to really make a difference because he’ll be all tied up in bureaucracy and red tape. Dr. Cox Turns down the job.

Jordan freaks out and has one of the best scenes ever with Dr. Kelso (seriously, go watch it, it’s awesome). She tells Dr. Kelso to go make things right and convince Perry to take the job. So what does Dr. Kelso do? He calls him a fraidy cat. “What’s the matter...are fraidy-cats ears to tiny?”

His taunting gets to Dr. Cox. They have a heart-to-heart. Dr. Kelso had to tell him the truth so he would know what he was getting into. In fact, it was Dr. Kelso who recommended him. Are they becoming friends? No, it can’t be! Anyway, Dr. Cox takes the job. Hooray!

JD and Elliot: JD is still trying to teach intern Denise/Jo a bit of sensitivity. Yeah, that doesn’t work, but JD doesn’t care: he now has someone to go home to. And that someone (Elliot, in case you weren’t paying attention) has baked them each a dozen cookies (Best. Girlfriend. Ever.) and has donned her pants with an elastic waistband (the titular “Cookie Pants”). The relationship is new, yet they are so comfortable together... and they haven’t even had sex yet (they have decided to take things slow this time around). But tonight’s the night, baby! This is going to be either really sweet, or a freakin’ train wreck.

At the hospital, Denise/Jo is still as friendly as cold grizzly bear made of steel. And when she suggests a painful and evasive procedure on one of JDs favorite patients, he freaks and tells her that if she never learns to truly care for her patients, she will never be a good doctor. Well, meany Denise/Jo orders the procedure anyway and JD goes through the roof. Until... the results of the test come back and they learn that the patient has stomach cancer. Denise/Jo was right.

Meanwhile, Elliot is running around the hospital, having pulled her standard neurotic freak-out, trying to figure out some way to make tonight the best night of JDs life. She asks Turk for advice, much to his discomfort. He spends the majority of the episode running from her.

JD apologizes to Denise/Jo, who then freaks out that he caved. She is angry that JD has given up on her. What? Yeah, she has been trying to have a better bedside manner. She loves the nuts and bolts of the job, but has a horrible time trying to open up anyone. They make a deal: JD will keep pushing her, and she will try to be more human.

And, finally, Turk deals out the best advice he ever could have to Elliot: “Just be with each other.” She decides to just be connected with JD and let the moment happen. Even in cookie pants.

What do YOU think? Is Denise/Jo growing on you? Was the Kelso ‘fraidy cat’ stuff awesome or what? Where the heck is Carla? Give us your Two Cents… We’ll (once again) go get some muffins. This show makes us strangely hungry for them...
