  1. Elliot finds himself undercover in an animal smuggling ring and it puts both him and his marriage in danger. It’s got everything to ensure it’s a crazy episode: tigers and hyenas and psychotic animal dealers, oh my! Oh, come on. I couldn’t resist.

    Top Three Memorable Moments:

    1. Okay, so this first one has two but they both were so strong in the ick factor that they belong together. Rapper Gots Money (played by Outkast’s Big Boi) gets mauled to death by hyenas. Thankfully, we don’t see it but we do see the aftermath and the thought of it still creeps me out. Then we have Elliot, undercover and unknowingly eating tiger meat. That part is gross but when the animal dealer is explaining what they’re eating, his teeth are stained red, driving home the disturbing moment.

    2. The episode begins with that classic “is this really happening?” moment, then cut to the next scene which explains it’s now days earlier. A lot of shows use this and it’s gotten to the point where I think it’s a cheap tactic but in this episode, it works. Stabler gets shot so you know right off the bat that that’s not supposed to be the shocking moment. What’s interesting is that it still is surprising when it happens. I knew he was going to get shot. I saw it at the top of the episode and I still jumped and gasped. That’s a well directed episode, when you still jump even though you knew it was coming.

    3. Olivia and Elliot. You know exactly the moment I’m talking about. Elliot is told by the psychotic animal dealer not to talk to anyone and Olivia shows up. The animal dealer brigade sees this and come running to his door like a hurricane. Olivia can’t get out in time, Elliot is stalling and trying to act like no one’s there and then, well, Olivia’s a quick thinker. She’s in her bra, pretending to be a prostitute and Elliot goes with it. It’s a moment that will no doubt be infamous to all Benson and Stabler fans.

So what did you think? It definitely was a bizarre episode and the Stabler shooting was done well but the rest was so out there. Tell me your TwoCents in the comments!

  2. I'm thinking it's just not a complete season until they've *almost* killed Stabler. Or had him *almost* kill someone.

I did like the way they did the shooting ~ you knew it was coming & yet when it did - still shocking.

The tiger meat ~ bleeeeech. So wrong. On so many levels.

Olivia in a bra cuddled up to Stabler ~ I was laughing too hard, I had to rewind that scene.

Is Munch on sabatical? Ever since his yelling in the street scene he's been suspiciously quiet.

  3. Liv pretending to be a hooker and Elliot going with it, priceless, someone should frame it.
