  1. MacLaren’s has a crazy bartender named Doug (Will Sasso) who has a temper but is very protective of the gang. So when some non-regulars sit in the favorite booth, Doug freaks and asks the squatters to step outside and for the boys to join him. That’s right, we’re gonna have ourselves a fist fight.

Marshall is a “No,” Ted is a “Hell, yeah,” and Barney is a “Maybe.”

Marshall claims he has been in plenty of fights with his brothers, to which the gang envisions soft little tickle fights. Ted wants to prove that he is something more than a little weakling who was left at the alter. And Barney? Well, as soon as Robin reveals that she thinks guys who get in fights are sexy (part of the whole Canadian, hockey thing) he’s all in.

So Barney and Ted get to the alley to find that Doug has knocked out all the baddies. But, crazy as Doug is, he thanks the guys for helping out. He thinks they fought, too? Well, let’s take advantage of that, my friend! Barney punches Ted and himself (I said it) to make it look like they fought. They return to the bar triumphant. Ted isn’t getting all those pity looks anymore and Robin is all over Barney.

There is only one problem? The guys Doug knocked out decide to press charges. Ted and Barney have to decide whether to keep of the legen- (wait for it) -dary façade up, or to come clean in order to stay out of trouble. Good thing: they have a built-in lawyer. Bad thing: it’s Marshall.

The gang has been making fun of Marshall for not joining the fight. So what does he do? He tells Ted and Barney that they could face jail time (which they won’t) and finally gets them to confess that they had nothing to do with the fight. Marshall gets the knocked-out guys to drop the charges against Ted and Barney. The only problem with that? They are leaving Doug out to dry. Remember Doug has a temper? Yeah. He asks Barney (who runs) and Ted to step outside.

And, finally, Ted gets into his first and only fight. Doug, illustrating how Ted can’t be counted on, says “No wonder your fiancé left you at the alter.” Ted winds up and clocks Doug in the nose. Too bad Ted is so wimpy. All his punch did was make Doug more mad. Doug lands a solid right hook.

The next thing Ted remembers is waking up to see Doug flattened out on the alley floor. Turns out Marshall and his brothers did a little more that have soft little tickle fights> We’re talking freakin’ Thunderdome. Marshall had Ted’s back. And that’s all that matters.

What do YOU think? What was your first fight like? When will we have lightsaber technology? Give us your Two Cents… We’ll give it to Doug so he can buy a new toupee.

    Next Week: Little Minnesota
