This week Betty applies for YETI (Young Editor Training Initiative) and has 48 hours to come up with a magazine concept that describes her or she will have to wait till next year to apply. Betty decides to do a fashion magazine. Hello! does she see what she wears? That's like marc writing a Playboy magazine! By the way...Marc is applying for it also. OH BOY!

Betty's storyline: Betty gives up on a fashion magazine concept when her father gives her a magazine she made when she was very young, for her mother. Plus, she saw fashion did not come easy for her. She asks Daniel to write a 1 page letter of recommendation and he keeps putting it off.

Finally, with no letter, she gives her presentation of "BMagazine". A magazine that celebrates women. She did a wonderful job! Then, in walks Marc and his entourage. He has a whole magazine that he made and important people in the magazine world to back him up. UH OH!

Betty gets the call....she made it into YETI! Marc is clearly upset for not getting accepted. Marc then explains to Betty that she got the job because she is Latino and they needed to meet their "quota". Betty is way upset! Oh no you di-unt just say that! Marc explains that he spent 3 months getting ready for his presentation and he is tired of always being discriminated against.

Betty then gives up her spot and Marc is in the program. He apologizes for sounding racist to her.

Then , woooohooo! Daniel comes through. He wrote a 6 page letter of recommendation and said she worked at "Player" magazine. She gets accepted too, now that she and Marc are from 2 different magazines. Betty is very excited.

Then, this is what I thought was the best part. Marc calls Betty and while talking on the phone, they are looking at each other across the room and he congratulates her. They actually have a great conversation and look forward to their experience together. Great moment!

Justin storyline: Justin and his friend Randy (remember from when the competed for a dance spot) spend some time together. They go to see the musical "Little shop of Horrors". But after Randy's peers see him hanging with Justin, they give him some pressure. Shortly after, Randy gives Justin the cold shoulder and doesn't want to hang with him anymore. Justin is clearly hurt over this. But Hilda, being Hilda gives him a pep talk and asks him to never change who he is. He feels better and asks his mom to the musical she got tickets for. Hilda is great.

Wilhelmina storyline: Well we know Willie has the hots for Conner, right? So she starts her plan!

Willie tells Conner he needs to go to Florida with her for a meeting. She purposely made him go , in order to spend time with him. Conner was suppose to speak at his girlfriend, (Molly) class. So he asks Daniel to go instead. Now , we know Daniel has the hots for Molly, right? Daniel goes and has a great time. Afterwards, he gets a bunch of "Thank You's" from the kids and he calls Molly up and thanks her.

Meanwhile, after the meeting, Wilhelmina suggests they order room service and have dinner. She orders champagne and gets Conner drunk. When she tries to seduce him, he tells her to stop and leaves the room.
    Didn't work this time, Wilhelmina!

Well I have to say , I really liked this episode. Loved the interactions of the "trio".Can't wait to see how Marc and Betty's YETI-thing goes. How about you? What's your 2cents?

    Circular hallway- car purses. Clever!

    thanks for listening

  2. I actually noticed the car purses! I've been keeping an eye out for the hallway decor ever since you started pointing them out.

I really liked this episode (although I had trouble watching it because the sound and picture weren't synced through my satellite, so it was like watching a badly dubbed foreign film). I was surprised to see Marc have so much ambition and drive towards something (particularly something non-evil and Willie related).

I'm sort of getting tired of the whole Daniel-screws-up-then-makes-amends-at-the-end-of-the-episode thing. I mean there's only so many times a girl can let someone screw her over the way he does to Betty. It's old, and they need to make Daniel's character grow, or just get Betty out of there. One person can only be so forgiving.

  3. I hear ya Carys Girl.
They have made Daniel a screw up from the very beginning. You'd think by now they would have made him grow up, especially with Betty. You gotta take care of an assistant like her.
Glad I got you watching the "hallway"
