Sometimes it’s a good thing that the titles are unknown…I would have expected more of a bloodbath than we see onscreen. But what gets more and more interesting about this show is that the violence is always waiting to happen. It’s just a question of where and when.

As the episode opens, Jax goes out to the desert to dispose of Kohn’s body. In his absence, everyone starts to worry about him and the medical supplies he was supposed to bring for Cameron. Gemma in particular starts to worry that he may have been arrested. After a quick reunion, he leaves to get Tara’s help patching the wound. When the job is finished, Gemma confronts her about whether this is the life she wants with Jax…being summoned in the middle of the night to patch bullet holes without asking questions. Playing to her intelligence and her strength, it looks like Gemma may have gotten more than a foothold this time.

The Sherriff arrives to question the gang about the dead Mayans that were found. Clay shows him the operation to mend Cameron and volunteers for a quiet chat at the station. He leaves Juice with his finger in an extremely inappropriate place as he stems the bleeding. As Clay enters the station, Darby is getting into a fistfight with Hale. As the Sherriff warns Clay against retaliation, the reinforcements stream into Charmng.

On Clay’s request, the cops pick up Marcus Alvarez, leader of the Mayans. He and Clay sit in a cell together, hammering out their issues. The Sons need money; the Mayans need guns, so Clay advises that the Mayans settle all grudges with SAMCRO. In exchange, Clay will sell guns to them. The retaliation for the hit on Clay will be handled by an “outside charter”.

Donna is concerned that Opey’s involvement is jeopardizing his legitimate job. When she walks out on him, he tells Clay he wants back in the gang full time. Cameron offers to refund the money he got from Clay in exchange for a hit and Opey volunteers immediately. Jax tries to talk him out of it, but Opey stands firm. When the time comes, however, Opey freezes and Bobby pulls the trigger.

After reading his father’s memoirs about the progression of violence, Jax sets Kohn’s body on fire. For a moment, he throws the memoir there as well, but then pulls it out again, burning himself and the pages.

So there’s my two cents…What you think? Drop them in the comments or drop me a line at: tom@thetwocents.com .
