We open exactly where everyone wants to start their day, in the shower with Simon and Karen. We're three minutes in and I already need to scrub my brain because Karen thinks the nozzles are useful. That sets the tone for the brain-breaking that we are in for this hour.

Kiki George makes her first appearance of the season, being dropped off by Nick. While Nick and Lisa both profess they want to make it work. Later, Simon stops in at the gallery and ready to show Lisa the (rather high resolution) footage of Nick and Karen from his security cameras. Lisa doesn't want to hear any of it, though. Also, there is an epic battle of wills between Tripp and Patrick and Nola. And a poor pedestrian is struck by a giddy Letitia who is out for a drive. This is totally not her year.

I have to say, if they are preparing to go out, they are going to go out with a bang.

Our poor pedestrian, Wrenn, is put up in the Darlings' household with the hopes that she won't sue -- but Letitia is wary. A friend of hers was apparently scammed by something similar that happened. It sounds crazy to me, but sanity isn't exactly something I expect from the Darlings. Nick visits Wrenn, and she doesn't plan to sue. Later, she is playing the piano, and Tripp pulls up a chair. He looks somewhat shifty when Wrenn comments that it was good that he was faithful to someone who hasn't been faithful to him.

Brian, Andrea, and Brian Jr's storyline is your average cancer storyline for a drama, but like everything the Darlings do, it is more over the top than you could ever hope for. Brian threatens to pull money from the hospital's new wing if the oncologist does not get Andrea into the trial for experimental cancer treatment, but Andrea is not going to take it. Brian confronts her about, and to be frank, it's quite hot. They have chemistry up the wazoo.

Nola and Patrick are making quite a team against Tripp. Tripp is determined to get Patrick on the Foreign Relations committee, but Patrick is equally determined to be on a much different committee: agriculture. I had to laugh. I'm an Iowa girl, so what can I say, we think agriculture is important. Jeremy also corners Nola, accusing her of still being in love with him.

On the Nick/Lisa front, the you-know-what has hit the fan. When dropping off Kiki, Nick and Lisa arrange a date to talk, because they both really want this to work. Really. At the restaurant, Lisa wants to be sure that Karen is going to be out of their lives, and Nick promises… something that isn't exactly that wording, but apparently good enough for Lisa. Good show, Nick, you are a lawyer after all. Nick meets with Karen to tell her that they are over and he is going to be with Lisa, because he loves her and wants to do the right thing. You needn't sound so enthusiastic, Nick. Since the bard says the course of true love never did run smoothly, Lisa calls while he is in the meeting with Karen, and takes this as a sign that he is not perhaps as into their marriage as he professes. Because he wouldn't be talking to her to say they can't see each other anymore, or anything -- am I the only person who would ever think that this is perfectly reasonable? She calls Simon to say she wants to know what is on that disc.

All of this culminates in a family dinner. As you might guess, this means trouble. People appear to be at odds more than ever -- and it really is quite awkward, what with Nola there for Patrick and Jeremy there, Letitia thinking Tripp's eye may be straying to Wrenn, and the piece d'resistance, the catfight between Karen and Lisa, which is nearly extended to a fight between Nick and Jeremy. Like Brian said, "Now it's family night." Lisa says she's done, it's over -- if you're Team Lisa, like me, you can't help but be sad.

After the party, Wrenn speaks with Nick on the balcony, and they kiss… which Tripp sees. There is a very awkward moment at the elevator between the two men, which Letitia overhears. Andrea tells Brian she will take the experimental treatment, because there is no way she can leave her son with the Darlings. Jeremy takes Lisa back to the gallery where they have sex on the couch, and Simon gets kind of scary with Nola when she tells him she no longer wants to play his game. He is holding her brother hostage to get her to do his bidding. God, it's so evil, I love it. After Nola leaves, Simon gets a visit from Nick, who is more than ready to destroy him. Game on, boys.

You know, reviewing that last paragraph, I can't help but think that maybe it's a good thing ABC wants to put this show to rest. I will miss it, but just because truth is stranger than fiction doesn't mean that you have to strive for it.

Reality Check of the Week goes to Letitia for her paranoia over Wrenn. In the end I don't think it will be justified, and if it is… well. If it is, someone is likely going to end up dead and she really will be in trouble for murder.
