Supernatural gave new meaning to "Scared to Death" this week. After 3 people die of "heart attacks", Sam and Dean look into if there is anything Supernatural behind it. One of the victims, Frank, was actually unusually scared right before he died. As the brothers look into the death, they come across a neighbor with an unusual obsession with reptiles. Sam and Dean ask about the victim, as Dean is apparently very bothered by the snakes. On the way back to the hotel, Dean abides by all the traffic rules, which both of them notice is very weird. Sam's EMF meter goes off when he puts it near Dean.

Dean just gets back from Hell and now he is infected by fear and he has 24 hours to do something about it. WE CAN"T LOSE DEAN AGAIN!! Dean wonders why Sam wasn't infected and it is apparently because of a personality flaw; all the victims are dicks. Yes, that was direct from the show. Another way to look at it is that all the victims use fear in their favor.

Dean is left at the hotel while Sam looks into the situation. Dean begins to hallucinate as he reads a book. Sam comes back to find him relaxing, having a beer. Dean starts to choke and hocks up a chunk of wood? Yummy. Apparently, when the chips are down, getting drunk is the way to go as Den continues to drink the entire time they are investigating. They head to a lumber mill. They find Frank's wedding ring. And a part that I laughed at for at least a few minutes occurs as they open a locker. Dean screams as a kitty jumps out. And he screamed like a little girls. Seeing Dean act like a complete wus was actually a riot. They encounter a spirit and Dean takes off running in the opposite direction.

Sam and Dean go to talk to the local authorities to ask more questions. Apparently Dean is not the only one infected as the Sheriff goes psycho on his germs and draws blood. He is acting very similar to the others with the disease. They talk to the victim, Luther's, brother who obviously does not agree with the cause of death. Apparently, they used to call his brother a "monster" because of how he looked. They find out that Frank killed Luther because he was nice to Frank's wife. Ding, Ding, Ding, it is Luther's death that the victims are reliving. They can't burn or salt the body to take care of it, because his body is scattered all over. Dean goes into a tangent about how crazy their life is and how crazy they are for living it. The comment about Sam becoming toxic after a burrito is pretty good.

Dean takes off and is cornered by......a cute little puppy with a pink bow. Sam finds Dean back in the hotel. But Sam is not Sam. He tells Dean it is time to go back and grabs Dean by the throat. Dean snaps out of it and finds out he is hallucinating.

Bobby and Sam meet to talk about what is happening as Dean stay behind to watch Gumby. The one way to take care of it is to burn the body, which is not an option. The other is to scare the ghost to death. And how do you do that again? Sam has a plan though and calls Den to tell him everything will be all right. Assuming Dean doesn't freak out or get killed by the sheriff first. Dean sees the sheriff is in the same position as him and tried to reason with him. They struggle and Dean pushes him away. The sheriff "has a heart attack" and dies.

In the mean time, Sam and Bobby are trying to bring out Luther. And they do that all right. As Dean sits and freaks out as the sheriff lies on the floor, “Lillith” shows up to torment Dean. Sam is doing his best to hold off Luther as Sam and Bobby get him the way he was killed many years ago, drug behind a car with a chain. Dean is saved just as things get a little too close.

Sam, Dean, and Bobby celebrate with a couple beers as Bobby leaves and Sam asks Dean what he saw at the end. Dean lies, of course.

And the best part, the blooper at the end of Jensen Ackles singing “ Eye of the Tiger”. I love this show. I give it a 9.5, with a few bonus point for the ending. Next week is the Halloween episode, which has got to be good!

  2. I haven't been able to get Eye of the Tiger out of my head. That outtake was the best thing ever. I'm glad we didn't have to wait for the gag reel to see it.
