“Parricide” is defined as the killing of one’s father, mother or a close relative. The alternate spelling used also becomes a play on the word “parasite”. OK, enough English lessons. Look up “momentum” on your own. Of course, it may refer you back to this show, this season.

On to the recap, where Shane loses the leverage he had, and the Strike Team loses two of its four members.

Shane preps his wife with his alibi, rehearsing the scenario that puts him in their house. He heads out and heads to Vic’s place as 2Man moves on Ronnie. 2Man’s shot goes wild, and a fragment hits Ronnie’s date in the arm, but leaves him unharmed. He calls Vic, who heads over there before Shane can take a shot at him. Finding an armor-piercing slug in the wall, Vic figures it will be easy to tie it to the place of purchase. A witness comes forth with the license plate for 2Man’s motorcycle.

Claudette gives the investigation to Dutch and Billings rather than the Strike Team. But Julien and Shane are sent to do the legwork, with Shane stating to the team that he wants to get to 2Man first to get payback. When 2Man is picked up on a traffic violation, he denies the shooting. After Dutch and Billings leave, Shane continues to play the outraged cop, disabling the camera. Once in the room, he tries to find where 2Man stashed the gun. When Dutch and Billings return, he gives up Shane.

After bargaining for a position in Aceveda’s administration, Pezuela meets with Vic. He asks him to shut down a priest who is letting drug dealers operate out of his church. Vic meets with the priest, and according to Pezuela’s wishes, he offers to get rid of the drug dealers in exchange for a recommendation that the parish be closed. He threatens to trump up pedophilia charges. Father Morton comes clean that he fathered an illegitimate child with a parishioner. Vic agrees to get the dealers and rescue the mother and child.

Shane picks up his family and hits the road. Before he goes underground, his wife meets with Vic’s wife to deliver a message. She tells her everything Vic has done since the killing of Terry Crowley, and lets her know that if he is caught, Shane will testify against Vic and Ronnie. Corinne confronts Vic at the Barn. He admits to criminal activity in a very nebulous way, offering apologies. Corinne states she will help him this one last time, but then she will leave with the children, since he needs some kind of punishment.

Claudette hands Vic over to Olivia for the remainder of his time on the force, which leads Vic to wrangle a position with Justice. After Shane bolts from the station, he realizes how limited he is by acting within the department. He drops his shield on Claudette’s desk and leaves his 45 at the door, as Claudette shouts at him from her office about the dangers of having a rogue cop on the street.
