Tonight, Christine and Barb go on a double date. Christine has problems with committing too quickly. Meanwhile, Richard and Matthew go to pick out chairs for Richard and New Christine’s wedding. Richard has problems with committing at all. Neither of these is really anything new.

Christine and Barb are picking out movies when two guys walk into the video store. They discuss lofty film choices like Kangaroo Jack and end up making a date. Back at Christine’s house, Richard comes to ask Matthew to help him pick out chairs for the reception, which is right up Matthew’s alley. Christine and Barb come in and announce their date. After an awkward moment between Matthew and Barb, Richard drags him from the house. But when she can’t even manage to call their dates, Christine wails over always getting her heart broken. Barb tells her to just have fun already. And then they call again and act like teenage girls.

They arrive to meet Patrick and Brian at a bar and promptly switch off between the two men. But Richard is having far more issues making a commitment to a chair. Matthew suggests this has more to do with New Christine, but that’s totally absurd. Back on their date, Christine offers to carry Patrick’s children, so Barb pulls her away. Christine is finally persuaded to act like a normal woman. By Barb’s standards, anyway, so she pretends not to be interested at all. And to think that nachos are moving too fast. But then they all end up making out on the couch.

The next morning, Christine is actually happy with the results of casual dating- until she discovers Barb and Brian spent the night together and are going out again and wants that, too. But when she calls Patrick, he says he’s going to Spain. In the front door walk Matthew, Richard, and six chairs. Matthew’s anxiety is not helped when Richard agrees with Barb saying he’s worried about New Christine right away after ignoring Matthew’s telling him just that for two days. But no matter, Christine and Barb are back off to the video store, where they, completely unsurprisingly, see Patrick. Christine eventually goes to confront him and first gets him to say he wasn’t interested, then protests the fact. But he says he was turned off by her not wanting a relationship. So she tells him she really wants a relationship with every guy she ever dates, just not in so many words. He is thrilled and they go off to start their star-crossed romance.

So, right now, everyone on the show except for Ritchie is in a relationship. What are your predictions for Christine/Patrick, Barb/Brian, Richard/New Christine and Matthew/Lucy? Speculate and tell what you thought of the episode!
