It’s the anniversary of our beloved Melinda and Jim. They celebrate with a lovely little three-day cruise, just the two of them... but not really. Melinda soon discovers that the ship is filled with ghosts in need of assistance. Most importantly, she must help the ghost of a woman that haunts the guests of room M-108.

So, the episode opens with Delia snapping a few pictures of Melinda and Jim before they leave. She casually tells them about the woman that jumped off the cruise ship a few weeks earlier and, with that, they go their separate ways. As they’re boarding the cruise, Melinda catches a glimpse of the passengers at the railing, waving goodbye to people on the dock. Half of them are bruised, bloody... and dead. Thus begins her so-called vacation.

The first ghost Melinda speaks with is named Betty, a friendly ghost (finally!) that takes them to their room. However, there’s another couple in the room, arguing. Meet the newlyweds Julie and Rich Henderson. Their room is next to Melinda and Jim’s M-108, but it was absurdly hot, they said. They quickly apologized and left.

That evening, Melinda meets up with Jim, apologizing for being late to their dinner. She was talking to Julie, who told her that Rich kept falling asleep, especially when things began to get romantic. As they walk across the deck, Jim sees Rich asleep in a pool chair and Melinda sees a ghost woman covered in seaweed leaning over Rich.

Melinda and Jim have dinner with Julie and Rich. Once he finally shows up, that is. Melinda believes seaweed woman is Georgia Kent, who jumped off the ship days earlier, so she asks Julie and Rich about her. Neither of them said more than “hello” to her, though. Julie and Rich are going to the karaoke event, but (unfortunately) Jim and Melinda decide to head back to their room instead. On the way, Melinda runs into a mob of unhappy ghosts. She calls up a sleepy Eli and puts the phone on speaker, leaving it up to him to help the spirits with their unfinished business.

The next day, Julie finds Mel and tells her that they found Georgia Kent alive at one of the docks. She had faked her own suicide. Melinda sees seaweed woman again, hovering over Rich, once again asleep. Obviously, she isn’t Georgia Kent. Melinda offers her help, and the woman’s only reply is, “He said he would marry me.”

Upon Melinda’s request, Jim meets up with Rich to investigate. Rich says he’s been having dreams about this woman who’s “all over” him. He follows her wakes up to realize he’s been sleepwalking.

Melinda goes to Bill Bradford’s book signing to ask him about ghosts, especially deaths in room M-108. Plenty of people have died on the ship, apparently, but none in that room.

In the next scene, the seaweed-wearing ghost lures Rich out onto the deck, and he sleepwalks to the railing of the ship. For a minute, he wakes up and asks what he’s doing sitting on the edge of the ship, but then he falls asleep again and plunges into the ocean.

But don’t worry. They fish him out in no time. The still annoyingly mysterious seaweed character says to Melinda that she realized Rich “wasn’t him.” Melinda and Jim stay in M-108 to find out what’s going on while Julie and Rich are gone. Sure enough, the seaweed ghost finds Jim. She thinks Jim is her fiancé, and she says no one knows she’s here.

Melinda walks out on the deck with Jim and grabs the railing of the ship. She has a flashback-type vision. She sees the ghost woman in a blanket being thrown overboard by one of the crewmembers.

Melinda and Jim are going through old files and reports for the ship. They find a photo from 1975 of the man Melinda confirms as the one in her vision: Bill Bradford. They confront him about it and he tells them he had been told to dispose of her body, and what happened. Seaweed woman is named Lorelei (A name, finally!). Lorelei was stopped by Bill, who worked on the ship at the time. She said she came to surprise the man she loved. Bill wouldn’t tell on her for sneaking onto the ship if she didn’t tell on him for smoking while on duty. As Bill tells Melinda this, they pass a room called the Shaft Ally. Melinda grabs the door handle and has a vision of Lorelei’s body tumbling out.

Melinda goes to find who was in room M-108 at the time. It was Cliff Sturges. Melinda tells him about Lorelei, and he tells his story. He says that she was a guest on the ship while it was in the port. He gave her a bracelet before she left, and they were going to be married. However, after this, he never saw her again. Lorelei tells another story. She snuck back on the ship before it left and went to find Cliff, but she saw him kissing another woman. Cliff explains that this was Patsy, a woman his parents wanted him to marry. He was telling her about Lorelei, and Patsy was saying goodbye.

After Lorelei saw Cliff and Patsy, she left the bracelet in the hallway and ran. To avoid getting caught, she hid in the shaft. She was holding onto the ladder, but it was hot, her palms were sweaty, and she slipped and fell.

Lorelei and Cliff finally get the closure they deserve. Lorelei goes into the light, saying she’s moving on, and so should Cliff. The rest of the ghosts on the ship appear and apparently Eli did a good job, because they follow Lorelei into the light. Except for Betty, who decides to stick around for her never-ending cruise.

Before the end of the voyage, Cliff meets with Melinda and Jim again. He says the ship is going be a museum instead of being destroyed. He throws the bracelet into the ocean, Titanic-style, and all is well.

After what probably wasn’t the vacation they expected, Melinda and Jim return home. Melinda gets a bit lightheaded and sits down, claiming it’s something like seasickness. Is this the ghost-whispering baby Jim and Melinda have been waiting for? I sure hope so!
