Whoa. It wouldn’t be the first two seconds of the first episode of season two without sex right off the bat. Nate and someone, um, “older” are getting to know each other in a car. Chuck (the love of all our lives – the reason I watch this show) hangs ten by the beach with not one, or two, but three brunettes. Yes, our lovely Chuck is back. Chuck thanks his lucky stars for just being him when he receives a text from Gossip Girl on Blair. He’s intrigued by what he sees, but he blows off the text for his girls. Serena enters the beach disgusted as she passes her new stepbrother.

Back in New York, we find Dan making out with some girl at a bookstore. Dan gets a stern talking to by his literary mentor whom he’s taking an internship from. Right after the talk he makes out with girl number 2! Jenny works her tail off as an intern for Eleanor’s (Blair’s mother) company. She’s getting treated, well, like an intern!

Back in the Hamptons, Serena warns Chuck not to hurt Blair who coming to chill out. Later, Chuck waits gallantly for Blair as she gets off the bus. He’s got on a nice red suit and holds flowers for her. But, she gets off with a man, James, (the one who she gets on the plane with in the finale).

At the house, Blair and Serena talk boys and past summer activities. Blair is saddened that Serena had no fun this summer moping over Dan (please hunny get over it, MOVE ON, I have). Chuck enters, talking to some girl over the phone to get Blair mad. She plays it back and immediately starts talking about James to get Chuck in a bind. Chuck demands that he gets to know James and Blair says okay. Dan meets up with his mentor to explain why he doesn’t have his paper on time. His teacher fires him for being lazy. Stupid Dan, I can’t believe you would blow an internship. That’s how you get a job later. We’ve all been there!

Serena has a date with a lifeguard. Nate and his older lady friend are having a good ole time again. The next day the group eats brunch together. Chuck is shooting barbs at James. Chuck loses it and takes off. Blair follows and they get into an argument whether or not she loves this guy. She lies and says yes. Chuck is hurt and so am I. Why is everyone being lame? Bad Blair, bad don’t hurt my Chuck! Nate and his older lady friend are back in bed. Lady friend gets up and looks out the window to see her husband. This causes Nate to jump out the window, spilling himself half naked onto the street. But, this being Gossip Girl means he runs right past Serena and lifeguard in their car. Yikes! Serena and Blair exit a fancy store with the word of the night, “Damn that MOTHER CHUCKER!” Blair says ticked off knowing that Chuck was right about her not liking James. Oh wait, my bad, word two of the night, “Chuck BASSTARD!” I have to say this is one great night for creative zingers thanks to the glorious writers. As the girls talk on one side of the road (about their boys), the boys talk on the other about the girls.

Blair decides to dump James, but gets a text from Chuck who’s “looking forward to” seeing the two at the White Party (a party the Hamptons is known for). We see Dan get off a bus and obviously head over to Serena’s house. White Party time! Nate is determined to get drunk faster than you can say Mother Chucker. Jenny shocks her boss when she shows up with Eric to the party.

Dan rings the doorbell but finds Chuck’s grandmother instead of Serena. Grandmother invites Dan to the party. James finally catches on that Blair was just using him to get back at Chuck. I think James might have been held back a few to many years… But then… you know what… I thought the end was too interesting to just give my input. I want yours and yours alone. Where is this year going to take us? Not take us? One. Two. Three. Go! I’m waiting….

  2. For people who come here because they missed the episode it would be way more usefu and helpful if you posted a full review.
Also, it wasn't chuck's grandmother, it was serena's. (Chuck's step-grandmother) which is why she and dan recognized each other and had a history.

  4. Did you read the review? because it ends with this:

"But then… you know what… I thought the end was too interesting to just give my input. I want yours and yours alone. Where is this year going to take us? Not take us? One. Two. Three. Go! I’m waiting…."

At least that is the last thing on my screen which means it's not at all finished. She never explains the part where Dan shows up at the party and sees serena and nate kiss or any of the other good stuff. I had to go to another review site to find that out.
