Okay, I know that I have reviewed episode 14 of season 5 last week but somehow I almost let this episode slip by and that can't happen because this was one of the funniest, if not the funniest Stargate episode ever. It might not have been the best episode and yes it was filled with cliches and quite frankly some really bad acting.

But even with all of those strikes against it, this in my opinion was a good episode. Or at least a funny one, I laughed throughout the whole thing, I love it when they take things to extremes just to make fun of themselves.
When a spaceship with the same energy signature as Martin Lloyd's space pod. The SG team is asked to find him, to ask him what he knows about the ship and about his fellow aliens. Who are still somewhere on earth.
When the airforce tracks him down, the SG1 team receive an interesting video. Wormhole X-treme, a preview for a new tv show which Martin is a writer for. Wormhole X-treme is a show based on the SG team and the stargate command. They decide to keep the showgoing, and make Jack O'Neill the Airforce special advisor on set.
His mission is to find out if Martin sold the idea of the Stargate to a television company – even though the television show is far from serious. When he walks into Martin he doesn't recognize Jack, which leads him to believe that the other aliens can be far off. He finds pills in Martin's trailer and sends them off to the lab to get them analized. Dr. Frasier soon reports back telling him that the pills are indeed laced with the same chemicals that Tanner and his men used before to supress Martin's memories.
As he ventures into the world of 'Wormhole X-treme' he finds a team of people who seem to think that they are making the best show in the world. 'Colonel Danning' the 'Jack O'Neill' of Wormhole X-Treme thinks that he is the man, he shoots up a room filles with aliens and at the end of the episode he always gets the girl.
The other counterparts of the SG1 members don't get away from it any better, all of the characters are taken to an extreme which is what makes it fun to watch. And then there is the flamboyant director who thinks he has a true masterpiece in hand.
Sam and Daniel are watching Martin's house, they find out that he is kept under video surveilance once again. They also discover that one of Tanner's men is working at the set of the television show. They want to catch him at his house, but upon arriving there they find out that the man is nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile Martin gets called into a vacant studio building, Jack is suspicious and he follows him. Because it wouldn't be the first time, Martin is convinced that the crew is playing yet another prank on him. However it doesn't take long before it becomes clear that this is not just another joke. Jack and Martin are bound to a chair by Tanner and his men. They give him an injection and it unblocks his memories, he can suddenly remember what happened a year before. He knows everything from the SG1 team to the SGC and even his destroyed home planet. He also remembers that he has used his subconscious memories as an idea for the television show.
Jack and Martin escape and they go to the studio to find a piece of alien equipment which Martin has given to the television show as a prop. They need it because it is a device that Martin took from Tanner last year. The alien ship in the meantime is approaching earth and Sam and Daniel find an NID team in a nearby warehouse who have been keeping taps on Martin. The NID team wants to seize the ship when it enters earths orbit.
The crew and castmembers are filming a scene outside when the ship enters orbit and the flamboyant director tells his cameramen to film it all believing that it is one of the best special effects ever made. In his mind he is already making his Emmy acceptance speach. With the NID closing in on them, Jack hands the device to Tanner who claims that he wants to leave earth. He and his men are transported into the ship before it dissapears again.
Martin on his turn stays on earth as the creative director of Wormhole X-treme.
