"Dawson's Creek" Summer DVD Review - "Hurricane"

Dawson's Creek DVD
"Hurricane" (formerly "Blown Away")

This is, in my opinion, the best episode of the season. Just about everything hits the fan during a hurricane in Capeside.

Everyone's packing things away out of the storm, and Jen, Grams, Joey, Bessie, and Bodie all shack up at the Leery household. Dawson makes it known to Gail that he knows what she's being doing with Anchorman Bob, and won't listen when she tries to explain. Instead, he blows up on similarly non-monogamous Jen.

Keep Chasing Joey...

Pacey and his brother Doug get stranded at Tamara's while helping her out. Doug starts to flirt with Tamara, so Pacey tells her that he's a repressed homosexual (which, for now, he only suspects). They play the "If" game and to Pacey's dismay, Tamara and Doug are still getting along FABulously. Well, until Dougie pulls a gun on Pacey for telling Tamara he's gay.

Back at the Leerys', Gail confesses to Mitch, who has the spectacular reaction of violently searching for a lamp, and one of the best lines ever - "Don't you cry! You don't get to cry." Love it. He tells her he chooses to hate her now, as quickly as he chose to love her 20 years ago, and throws her out of his car, kicking mud up at her as he drives off.

Grams spews a little judgment on Bessie and Bodie, before giving some advice to Dawson about second chances. Okay then. Jen and Joey continue to become friends without Dawson getting in the middle, but he makes up with them both. Mitch comes back and listens to Gail's ridiculous reasons for her affair. She had a perfect life, she explains, and she wanted to want something again. As expected, that is pretty painful for Mitch to hear, and they sit in silence.

So did you love this episode, or was it just so-so? Do you think Gail should have been forgiven or not? Leave your Two Cents in the comments.
