“Big Yellow Joint, big yellow joint…” Yes that’s exactly what it sounds like. On this very special episode of our favorite show, we learn drugs + the Bluths = well, a regular day for them, but crazy one none-the-less. Michael is very disappointed when his son George-Michael comes home with an A- on a test. While on the opposite of the parenting Richter scale Lindsay (Michael’s twin sister) could honestly care less her daughter Maeby got a C- on her test. Michael tells Lindsay it might be good to have boundaries for her child, while Lindsay blasts back that Michael has TOO MANY for his child. Lindsay says Michael is just as horrible as their father was while they were growing up. Their father George Sr. used to hire a one-armed man named J. Walter Weatherman, to teach them very important life lessons (whether it was Michael spilling ice cream in the car, or not leaving a note, etc, J Walter would always loose his fake arm to scare the kids).

Gob, their other brother, enters the mix when he announces he has much worse problems then his siblings (no duh Gobby boy!). Gob really needs money to pay back Hot Cops, a stripper employment agency he use to work for. Then there’s gold ol’ Lucille who has issues of her own. She needs help from her children to doctor important documents. No one will help, so in punishment of Maeby’s bad grade Lindsay forces her to go spend the day with her grandmother. Michael decides to give G-M a break and tells him to go take the day off. G-M does by going to work at the infamous Bluth Frozen Banana Stand.

While at work G-M runs into Buster who will delight you with his own very problem. Buster has a “different” problem he needs a teenagers help with. His girlfriend Lucille II, (his mothers rival) needs something to help calm her vertigo. Buster decidedly believes pot to be the answer. So, naturally Buster figures G-M being street smart would know a good place to score pot. G-M doesn’t know, which Buster highly doubts as the literal Banana Stand (a gigantic banana) was a known spot for pot deals in the past (Big Yellow Joint!). The Stand would later spawn a popular song, “Big Yellow Joint.”

Back at Lucille’s apartment Maeby and her look through old jewelry. Maeby stumbles across a broche that was supposed to be given to her mother later on in life. Maybe decides it should be hers for what Lindsay did to her. Maeby comes to first realize her grandmother isn’t that bad…until Lucille hits her with her own insults. Maeby and Lindsay later apologize for the broche and Lucille. G-M decides to help Buster out by going to Gob for the drugs. Gob agrees to get the pot for his nephew, but tells Michael first.

Michael, mad at his son, decides to give him a life lesson of his own by hiring J. Walter Weatherman. Gob, Michael and J. Walter plan an elaborate “police bust” and pretend to trap G-M for getting the pot. But what we find out is the cops are the Hot Cops Gob worked for. But, this plan fails miserable when A) G-M knew one of the Hot Cops to be his math teacher B) George Sr. knew about this plan all along and had J. Walter faked killed to prove a lesson to Michael on how not to trap your own son. See what did I tell you about the Bluths!

After the raid, Michael asks G-M why he would need drugs. G-M doesn’t say anything until Buster enters the group wondering where the pot is. Michael realizes G-M did this for family and all is forgiven. In the end, we get an un-Bluth moment when Michael always wants his son to feel like he can talk to him about anything. I love Jason Bateman and Michael Cera in these scenes. They have fantastic chemistry! Okay everyone I feel it coming….say it with me…. Awwwww.
