This summer, for the following eleven weeks I am going to write something completely different. If you know me you might be surprised by my less then obvious choice. I love crime shows, and normally I review NCIS. So I could have chosen to do Profiler or Crossing Jordan for instance. Both shows that I loved to watch a couple of years ago. But I choose Stargate SG1, this is not the kind of show that I usually watch. The whole Sci-fi thing has never really been interesting or appealing to me. For instance I have never watched Star Wars or Star Trek for that matter. But this show is different. Years ago when I saw the first Stargate movie on the television and I as immediately interested by the concept.

Years ago when I saw the first Stargate movie on the television and I as immediately interested by the concept.
The original movie, on which this show is based was released in 1994. Three years later the first season of Stargate SG1 started, resulting in ten seasons and a couple of television movies. In 2004 the series got a spin off in the form of Stargate Atlantis, which is now filming it’s fifth season.
The main cast of Stargate SG1 consists of:
* Richard Dean Anderson – Colonel Jack O'Neill
* Amanda Tapping – Major Samantha Carter
* Christopher Judge – Teal'c
* Michael Shanks – Dr. Daniel Jackson
* Don S. Davis – Major General George Hammond
A Stargate is a device which can be used to travel between worlds in the universe. The thirty nine symbols on the ring represent constellations which allow people and object to travel for hundreds of light years in an instant. Earth’s Stargate is placed in Mount Cheyenne from which the SG teams travel through the universe. In Stargate SG1 the team of Colonel Jack O’Neill is followed on their travels through unknown worlds.
I will be reviewing episodes that left a lasting impression on me for several different reasons. It might be just because I liked the writing of an episode or the idea behind it. But I am open to options, so if you have a particular episode which you would like to see reviewed feel free to drop me a line and I will give you my two cents. The first episode I will be reviewing is 3x06 ‘Point of View’.
