This summer I will be writing on the show "Popular". " Popular" ran in 1999-2001 and was drama/comedy(more comedy) about high school. I didn't watch this show when it was on the air, but just found out about it last year and just loved it. It is a quirky comedy about the popular kids and the not-so-popular kids and how they interact. The main storyline revolves around Brooke McQueen (Leslie Bibb) the popular cheerleader who has self-esteem issues and Sam McPhearson (Carly Pope) the outsider who is jealous of Brooke and takes it upon herself to make the cheerleader's life more difficult.

I didn't watch this show when it was on the air, but just found out about it last year and just loved it. It is a quirky comedy about the popular kids and the not-so-popular kids and how they interact. The main storyline revolves around Brooke McQueen (Leslie Bibb) the popular cheerleader who has self-esteem issues and Sam McPhearson (Carly Pope) the outsider who is jealous of Brooke and takes it upon herself to make the cheerleader's life more difficult.
The heart of the series is mainly about the power struggles in relationships. Brooke's dad and Sam's mom end up "hooking up" and decide to get married. Let's just say Sam and Brooke are not happy about this at all, which sets up the premise of season 1. There is a very funny cast of characters and they all have wonderful witty one-liners that are thrown out to make a very enjoyable watching experience.Here is a list of the cast members and their characters:

I hope you join me over the next several weeks this summer and watch these episodes I review. ReplyDeletePlease review the episode where Harrison finds out his "bad news" from season 2. The drug testing episode...I love that one, it always makes me cry.
