Oh Cornballs! No I didn’t just curse at you. The Cornballer is a Bluth family device used to make delicious, but harmful cornballs. George Sr. had tried to market this product in the late 70s, but failed when it kept burning people. It was later outlawed in the U.S. and Mexico.

Continue making cornballs...

Oh Cornballs! No I didn’t just curse at you. The Cornballer is a Bluth family device used to make delicious, but harmful cornballs. George Sr. had tried to market this product in the late 70s, but failed when it kept burning people. It was later outlawed in the U.S. and Mexico.

We enter the Bluth model home to find Michael planning to make cornballs with George-Michael. G-M enters the room to say he feels a little to old to be doing this anymore. Michael then proceeds to burn himself on the machine. Lindsay comes into the room to reiterate that her nephew needs to live his own life. Michael isn’t pleased, especially when she cops to using the Company credit card to buy a new dress. Gob comes into the kitchen to announce he’s been fighting with his Spanish soap opera star girlfriend Marta #1 (this is the first of about 4 different actresses who will play her). Tobias interjects that G-M is just experiencing life as a teenager. He comments that he has a “perfect” relationship with Maeby and doesn’t need to know where she’s going at all until…she announces she’s going to audition for a school play. This peaks Tobias’ interest in his daughter as he’s trying to make it as an actor.

At the school, we learn that Maeby could care less about acting and more about “Steve Holt!” G-M has the same approach as Maeby. He decides to audition to get closer to his cousin. All three make it into the play. Lucile becomes frustrated when Buster decides to stay with her. She forces Michael to take Buster off her hands. Michael reluctantly agrees on the condition that he works for the Bluth family. Immediately, Michael puts Buster to work building a bike for G-M. When the brothers enter the room where the bike is located, they find Gob in a bathrobe shredding bread. Gob has no place to go, but Michael doesn’t care and kicks him out of the office.

Back at the high school, Tobias is made the director of the play much to the chagrin of Maeby. G-M is unhappy when Tobias doesn’t allow him and Maeby to kiss. Michel comes to the high school to see G-M, but leaves after his son doesn’t want him around. He’s sad thinking his son doesn’t care anymore. Maeby quits the play leaving them a leading lady short. This gives Tobias the idea to put “Steve Holt!” in Maeby’s role and G-M in the leading male role.

Back at Lucile’s apartment, she wakes from a nap angry to find Gob playing the piano. He’s decided to stay with her. She gives him three days. At the model home, Michael decides to spend more time with Buster while his son is away. Gob comes back after not being able to live with his mother for more than an hour. They siblings decide to rip on their mother, thus giving Buster the chance to go off on her. But of course this being Arrested Development, the entire speech has been “bleeped” out just to emphasize how vulgar he was.

At the high school, Tobias shows “Steve Holt!” his wardrobe. It’s Lindsay’s dress she bought with the company card. G-M tells Maeby he quit the play too, while she tells him she’s back in, but not in her original role. Yes, Tobias has now made her the male lead, still keeps “Steve Holt!” as the female.

Buster and Michael sit in the conference room at the Bluth Company. Lucile enters, furious at Michael for turning Buster against her. On his own accord, Buster decides to go back and live with his mother (they have the best scenes anyway!). As twisted as this situation is, Lucile makes a valid point to Michael. She tells him to hold on to G-M before he gets further way. I completely agree with her for once, but Michael doesn’t. He comes to the realization he doesn’t want to be his mother and wants G-M to make his own choices.

G-M watches Maeby and “Steve Holt!” kiss. “Steve Holt!” is actually in the dress. Man, I love this show. But, Maeby is turned off when she thinks “Steve Holt!” smells like her mom.

Michael returns to find G-M making cornballs at the model home. G-M apologizes for yelling at his father and once again Michael burns himself on the Cornballer. Have we learned nothing Michael?

    FAUX:
On the next Arrested Development - Tobias gets a review of the play from the school newspaper. He becomes depressed (to the point of crying in the shower) when Sophomore Tracy Schwartzman thinks poorly of his work.
As Lucile does her water aerobics, Buster becomes stuck on the roof near the pool.

    REAL:
On the next Arrested Development – “Key Decisions” – Gob becomes jealous of Marta for her daytime Desi nomination so he stages a publicity event that lands him in jail.
