Nia Vardalos, who earned an Oscar nomination and won the hearts of moviegoers with her blockbuster hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding, is going to join the cast of the TBS comedy series of MY BOYS, for a three-episode arc. In the show, she will play a woman who works with Andy (played by comedian Jim Gaffigan) and becomes his “work wife.”
MY BOYS stars Jordana Spiro as a 20-something sports writer in Chicago whose friends are mostly guys. Gaffigan plays her married brother, Andy, who recently moved back into the city with his wife and daughter. The series also stars Jamie Kaler, Reid Scott, Kyle Howard, Michael Bunin and Kellee Stewart. MY BOYS will kick off its second season on June 12, only on TBS.
Nia Vardalos recently completed filming on the movie A Wilderness of Monkeys, which she adapted and in which she co-stars with Tom Hanks. She also just completed production on My Life in Ruins, with Richard Dreyfuss. In addition to My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Nia’s other past credits include Connie & Carla and Meet Prince Charming.
