Rain forces a change in the escape timetable, since the dirt that killed Sami leaves a visible dent in the surface as the rain collects. In Michael’s eyes, it’s tonight or never. As McGrady approaches Michael again, wanting to be included in the break, Michael tries to warn him of the cost, and says he’s doing him a favor. In the tunnel, Bellick and Bagwell each try to drive their own wedges between Michael and everyone else.

The plan hinges on the time between when the cutting of the power and the activation of the backup generator. Sucre is able to relay the model number of the unit to Michael, and also seems to have a potential way to disable the jeep patrols. But we learn that the police have checked into the background of his assumed identity, and found that there is a warrant for that man’s arrest.

After failing in her attempt to open the mysterious case, Sofia is abducted by Gretchen. As she tortures her, Gretchen prompts Whistler to find the coordinates his bird book has encoded. He comes up with the info, but as everyone gathers for visitation, he rips the paper in half. He tells Gretchen that she will get the full data when he knows that Sofia, Michael, Linc and LJ are all safe.

Finally relenting, Michael brings McGrady down to the tunnel after coordinating a time with Linc when the power will be cut. Michael announces that they will have thirty seconds to get past the fence once the power is cut. This does not set well with the crew. Lechero and Bagwell pull out shivs and threaten their way to the head of the line. Bellick follows suit through sheer bullying, placing himself third in line. Mahone defaults to the rear. As Linc crashes a bus into the pole with the transformer, the lights go out and the countdown begins.

Prison Break airs Mondays at 8 PM on FOX. Episodes can also be viewed at the FOX website.
