Screen Actors Guild Awards Winners!!

TNT and TBS bring us the SAG Awards tonight at 8PM EST. It could be the only award show where we see actual awards being handed out. The SAGs are usually one of my favorite award shows because it's where the actors salute their own! It's like voting for senior superlatives in the high school yearbook.

We will update this post LIVE as the SAG Awards happen. Check back throughout the evening as all the winners will be posted with commentary.

Outstanding Performance by Male Actor in Drama Series:
James Gandolfini - The Sopranos
He didn't have much of a speech prepared at all. But seemed humbled by the win.

Outstanding Performance by Female Actor in Drama Series:
Edie Falco - The Sopranos
So, you have actors voting for actors, makes sense they give The Sopranos their send off. Edie said "This was so not supposed to happen."

  1. Outstanding Ensemble in a Dramatic Series:
    The Cast of The Sopranos
There we go. Three for three for the retired program. Looks like the entire cast is there. Gandolfini doesn't want to talk, so Paulie Walnuts take the mic to say thanks!

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role:
Javier Bardem - No Country For Old Men
Javier's grandparents were actors too. Who knew?

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series:
    Tina Fey - 30 Rock
Good for her! Tina thanked everyone for even considering her an actor at all.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series:
    Alec Baldwin - 30 Rock
Man, he didn't even show up. So - 2 for 2 for 30 Rock... do we see a trend?

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series:
    The Office
WOOHOO!! Jenna Fischer was selected to speak. They really love each other, everyone on the stage looks very touched and happy. They dedicated the award to their crew.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Mini Series:
Kevin Kline - As You Like It.
All the nominees were first timers. Kevin didn't show up.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Mini Series:
    Queen Latifah - Life Support
Presented by Mickey Rooney who received, and deserved, a standing ovation. Queen however was not in attendance.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role:
    Ruby Dee - American Gangster
Another standing ovation. This is her first nomination and first win. She's very touched and not sure what to say - but she's so happy.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role:
Daniel Day-Lewis - There Will Be Blood
Daniel's second win of this award, he mentioned Heath Ledger in his speech and the faces of the crowd still show the shock of losing someone at such a young age.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role:
Julie Christie - Away From Her
She mentioned how we're currently being reminded how important unions are. We miss you WGA! Come back soon!

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Motion Picture:
    No Country for Old Men
Tom Cruise presented the award. The cast took to the stage and Josh Brolin accepted on behalf of everyone who made this movie.
