Dougie is rocking out to the Spin Doctors on the morning commute. The radio station announces a big Spin Doctors ticket giveaway for the ninth caller and Dougie demands everyone use their cell phones and begin calling. Dougie, Aubrey, Laird and Gracen are callers one through four and Dougie demands they call again. This time they are callers five though eight. It doesn’t seem like anyone is interested in seeing the Spin Doctors except Dougie. Laird gets through as the ninth caller but pretends he’s the tenth caller, prompting Dougie to rip off Aubrey’s sun visor and throw it out the window. Laird hands him the phone and Dougie wins the tickets.

At Gracen’s place, Leila is down in the dumps because the real estate market is so bad. She really needs to sell a house. She’s looking for another new way to market herself. Marmaduke shows up wearing a bee keepers outfit and announces he’s attending a protest. The world’s bees are disappearing and he’s marching for a way to control their pain. Later on, he’s planning on helping a neighbor hunt down and humanly destroy a coyote that ate her French poodle Gigi.

Outside, we see the coyote finishing off Gigi leaving only GiGi’s collar which the coyote carries around in its mouth. Laird is out checking his mail when he spots the coyote, but he thinks it’s a homeless dog and according to the collar the dog’s name is Gigi. There’s no address on the collar so Laird takes the “dog” inside for a bath and some steak.

Back in the car, the guys want to know if Cindy is psyched for the Spin Doctors concert. Dougie tells them she’s very excited but there’s one little hiccup – they aren’t going to the concert. Cindy refuses to leave the baby and she’s afraid to hire any new babysitters since their last babysitter died. The guys tell Dougie he needs to put his foot down and be a man and fight if he really wants to go to the concert, but Dougie and Cindy don’t fight.

At the office the guys are still talking about how Dougie never fights. Gracen recalls a fight he had with Leila over what to name Marmaduke. Gracen wanted to name their son Bob but Leila thought it sounds “too round.”

Dougie wants the name of Aubrey’s babysitter but Aubrey refuses to share – even going so far as to shout “stay away from my babysitter’ to Dougie and the entire rest of the office building.

Back home, Dougie is trying to lay down the law. He’s hired a babysitter and he surprises Cindy by introducing her. The babysitter seems highly qualified. She’s a nurse. She has numerous references and even multiple DVDs of herself in the act of babysitting. She’s even the granddaughter of the guy who invented the Heimlich maneuver. Cindy refuses to even meet her and threatens to take the baby and move out and then the sitter can give Dougie the Heimlich maneuver while he’s choking on his loneliness. Dougie throws the sitter out the door she barely has time to catch her jacket and purse.

Laird and his new “dog” Gigi are waiting for a pizza delivery. The pizza shows up but the delivery guy spots the coyote and drops the pizza and runs off. Sweet, thinks Laird, free pizza.

Leila is having some brochures printed up. “The name to trust is Leila Brooker. She’s mighty smart and quite the looker.” One can just imagine what hilarity might ensue. Marmaduke comes downstairs and he’s dressed normally for once. He tells his parents that he ran into Dr. Laird and found out that they almost named him Bob. He’s decided that his life would be totally different if he had been Bob and he’s going to explore what that life might be like. Marmaduke, is the kind of guy who collects microwave ovens and sits in his room thinking up ways to save the world, says Bob as he heads off to the mall.

At the office again, Dougie tells the guys that he’s scheduled a fight with Cindy for that night. The gang roleplay to see what the fight is going to be like with Aubrey playing Cindy and Laird playing Dougie. The real Dougie and Gracen feel left out so Dougie roleplays Aubrey and Gracen decides he’ll be Laird. The whole thing goes bad almost immediately and Dougie gets angry. The guys tell him to remember that anger for the fight tonight.

Leila and Cindy are sitting out on the porch when a creepy guy shows up with one of Leila’s new flyers. He ends up getting a face full of mace which he’s “not into” and Leila sees that the L in “quite the looker” is a fancy script font that looks like an H.

Laird is out for a jog with his “dog” Gigi. Another jogger sees the coyote and starts yelling for Laird to run. Laird, who’s jogging, says he IS running.

Dougie and Cindy sit down for their first fight and it’s barely underway when Dougie brings in the guys who promise that they’ll watch the baby. She can’t refuse a doctor (dentist), a certified mediator and a responsible parent of many, many children, but she tries. She drags Dougie into the baby’s room to talk, but the guys hear everything on the baby monitor. When she realizes that they’re listening she agrees to let them babysit and go to the concert.

Leila is angry about her flyers and she shows one to Bob and asks for his opinion. Unfortunately, Bob can’t read. It’s his secret shame. Bob offers to pick up a latté for his mom while he’s out dropping off a bunch of Marmaduke’s things (including a weird babydoll, a lava lamp and an electric abacus) in the trash.

Dougie and Cindy arrive at the concert, but Cindy tells Dougie to go on his own. She has to stay in the car with the baby. The baby? Yes, she went around the back of the house and kidnapped her baby out from under the babysitter’s noses. Dougie doesn’t want to go to the concert alone and he confesses that he misses Cindy since the baby was born. They agree to skip the concert and go home and spend time together.

Back at their house, Laird is snooping around and finds a DVD that was hidden in a cupboard. The guys think it might be that homemade porn Dougie was supposed to have been involved in a few weeks ago. They put the video in and it looks good at first. Cindy is in the bathtub, Dougie comes in and gets behind her and then another woman enters the room. The guys start to freak out and then on the television Cindy starts to freak out because she’s giving birth. The guys go from excited to grossed out immediately. Aubrey decides to check on the baby.

Outside, “Gigi”, has picked up Marmaduke’s babydoll from the trash and is carrying it around in her mouth.

The guys panic when the baby is missing and they look out the open window to see a coyote with a baby in it’s mouth. Dougie and Cindy pull up just as the guys run out the front door screaming. They chase after the coyote and Dougie wonders what is going on. Gracen runs over to the car exclaiming “we’re rescuing your baby from a wild coyote!”
The baby however, is fine in his carseat in the back of their car.

Once everyone calms down and realizes the baby is fine, Aubrey tells them that while they were chasing the coyote he promised himself if the baby got out of this alive, he would give them the name of his babysitter, but since the baby was never in any real danger he’s decided they can’t have her name. Laird runs off to find Gigi because he’s sure Gigi must be scared with a coyote running around the neighborhood.

Inside, Dougie and Cindy see the video of their baby playing on the screen and decide they want to have another child and then realize that the guys must have been watching their birthing video and we pull out to an exterior shot outside the house with a big full moon hanging overhead. We hear Cindy’s screams being answered by the call of a wild coyote.

Marmaduke, once again in his beekeepers uniform, comes in and announces that he's not Bob anymore. He's studied the statistics and decided that the parents of the average Bob would be divorced by now. So as a gift to his parents he's decided to go back to being Marmaduke. Also, he announces, Bob was stealing.
