In the key of Ryan Seacrest, This is American Idol! We are in South Carolina tonight and Mr. Seacrest tells us that there are 10,000 contestants. We are treated to the Black Eyed Peas, “Let’s Get It Started In Here.”

We first meet Oliver and he would be our 1st contestant, but his wife’s water just broke and they are off to the hospital hoping this won’t take too long so that he can be back to audition. Ummm, Oliver, you won’t be back today I can promise you that! I hope they have auditions tomorrow.

Raysarde is up next and he informs us that he is unemployed but hopes his next job is being the next AI. He is like to pick his Afro and says that he has been told he sounds like Clay Aiken. He sings, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” And he is a “little” over the top and by little, I mean A LOT! Simon says that the would not have been surprised if Raysarde did a magic trick in the middle of his performance and neither would I. Unlike the last shows of this season, just because he is the first one to audition, he is not the first one that gets to go to Hollywood.

DeANNA is next to audition. And YES! It’s DeAnna with a capital A because she likes to be different. DeAAAAAnna really likes Kelly Pickle’s “In My Red High Heels.” Though she doesn’t think that she would be able to walk in high heels because she would break her back. She sings one of the most famous country songs, “Fancy” It didn’t go so good and she will not be moving on.

Next up in a couple that met on the AI message board. They show us the place where they first met and they seem really sweet and really in love. They audition together singing, “She’s More” by Andy Griggs. He starts off and she adds her vocal talent throughout the song. He is horrible! “Complete torture” Simon says- oh! You remember that game, that was a fun game wasn’t it? The girlfriend asks if she should keep singing at family functions and Simon tells her to never sing at another family function, ever. In case you couldn’t figure it out, neither of them move on to then next round, but the judges are very impressed with how in love they both are.

Michelle & Jeffery are next and they are brother and sister. Jeffery tells us that he as that “awe” factor- I will be the judge of that Jeffery. They sing a duet, “I'm Your Angel” by R. Kelly and Celine Dion. The judges like Jeffery but so much his sister. But Simon can’t stand to separate the two of them so they both move on to Hollywood. Yes, Jeffery I guess you kinda do have that awe factor.

Oh! Back to Oliver and them mama to be. He is driving around town with map quest directions in his hand and he is totally lost. I sure hope he makes it to the hospital before his wife has the baby in the back seat – you think the camera man would help her with her breathing exercises if need be or does he just hold the camera and NEVER stops recording??

As filler, we see a bunch of people completely butcher “Before He Cheats.” People don’t know the words, make up their own words and just sound horrible.

Amy, a 16 year old who does not have sex and will not have sex before marriage. She likes to talk with other young people about how not to have sex before marriage. She brings her teachings to Simon, Randy and Paula. Randy asks her to give Simon a “No Sex Before Marriage” speech and she does. Simon likes what she has to say. Oh and Amy is a capital of her cheerleading squad as well. She is kinda like that super preppy girl I hated when I was in high school. I mean there is preppy and then there is a whole other level- Amy is on that whole other level. She sings Christina Aguilera’s “Reflection.” She does it some justice, but I just don’t like this girl. However, Paula loves her and Simon is right on target and says that people aren’t going to like her, but he goes ahead and moves her onto Hollywood.

Guess what!?!? Oliver found the hospital, but he will have to wait till the next day to audition.

A 24 year old is up next. Because I have super sloppy handwriting, I can’t read what her name is- so we will call Jane? Jane lost her dad 3 years ago and her story is touching. We really like her, well I do anyway. I like her much more than Amy, the 16 cheerlead/ virgin- Humm…You know Jamie Lynn Spears is also 16 years old…I’m just saying…. But back to Jane? Jane sings Billy Holiday’s “Good Morning Heartache” and she totally rocks it! That is a hard song to sing and she does great! She gets a golden ticket and is on her way.

End of Day 1. Now Day 2.

We meet a female Air Force Pilot, Lyndesy. She fly’s big, VERY big planes. The kind that transport everything under the sun to our troops. Her dreams were to be a pilot and to be a singer. She sings “Black Velvet” and does ok, but her nerves got the best of her and can’t get past it which causes her not to be able to move onto the next round.

Next up is Aretha and Aretha’s shinny blue dress and HUGE shinny sliver belt (think of the biggest belt you have ever seen, now think bigger, now bigger just a bit bigger. Ok, that was the size of her belt). Aretha is named after the famous Aretha Franklin. Her mother loved Aretha F. so much that she just had to name her daughter the same thing. She thinks that she is as good as Aretha F. and attempts to sing, I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. Simon says that she murdered the song, which she did do. She doesn’t by it and says that she still can sing- Ummm, Aretha, honey, yes you can sing – we all can sing, just some of us don’t sound good while doing it and you fall into that group. Aretha does not get a golden ticket.

Mean singer Joshua is up next. When he sings, he get angry and what a prefect song choice he picked, “You’re Gonna Love Me.” It can be an angry song, but Joshua isn’t so much as telling us that we are gonna love him as he is “You better love me or I’m going to kill you in you sleep.” He doesn’t believe the judges either and goes off.

There are still more No’s to come, but never fear…Oliver is back and he sure to move on, right? I mean we have been following him all hour long. Well, he sings “Get Here” but isn’t as good as I had hoped. He does not make it, but we get to meet his newborn daughter, Emma Grace.

We are told that 23 people have moved on to Hollywood. Our next stop, Omaha, NB..
