An all-new episode from 30 Rock, thank goodness!

Tracy buys Studio 6H a cappuccino machine to apologize for a dream he has. The machine is placed on Kenneth the page’s desk, in his way of normal tasks. When Kenneth asks Tracy to move it, explaining that he doesn’t drink coffee because it’s the devil’s drink, Tracy introduces him to a whole new world by suggesting he try a cup. Tracy realizes the damage he has done to Kenneth, introducing him to coffee, and breaks the spell Kenneth is under. Jack and CeCe attempt to place their busy work lives aside and meet halfway to make their relationship work, literally. Jack finds a city halfway between New York City and Washington D.C., a small coalmining town. Their love for each other causes problems at each of their workplaces, so much that CeCe feels it is best if they end their meet-me-halfway rendezvous and call an end to their complicated relationship.

Jack suggests Liz buy something, so she looks into realty and gets advice from Jenna. Liz finds an apartment called The Windmere and must be accepted by the building’s co-op board and get a loan. She gets extremely nervous during her interview with the co-op board, babbling about nonsense, finally throwing herself at them explaining that she’s in love with their building. Liz turns the entire situation into a relationship-gone-bad. When she doesn’t hear from the board with their decision on her residence their, she opens bottle after bottle of wine calling them every hour, sounding more hopeless after each hour and each drink. She finally runs into the co-op board with the new tenant they chose, looking very much like girl seeing an ex-boyfriend with a new squeeze, awkward.

This was the first episode after a long break and the second episode in a row without a title. The ending of the episode had a very season-finale type feel to it. The entire cast broke out into a rendition of Midnight Train to Georgia when Kenneth left the studio. Jack and Liz have a heart to heart about it not being possible to have everything you want in life. Kenneth returns to finish the song off by adding that he missed his train. Gladys Knight ends the song by asking them to be quiet so she can get some rest. Was that the last we’ll see of 30 Rock for this year? I hope not.
