Ho, ho, ho. Yes, this is late, sorry. The holidays are over, but not for our friends living in the Upper East Side. It’s Christmas Eve and our favorite teens in love, Serena and Dan can’t figure out what to get each other for the big day. Waiting till the day before? Lame. Just like this episode. Vanessa has decided to one up Serena by getting a poem Dan wrote published in the New Yorker. Your present has to now rock Serena! At casa ala Blair, the excitement is also flying high. Ho, ho, ho. Yes, this is late, sorry. The holidays are over, but not for our friends living in the Upper East Side. Not knowing what the get Dan, Serena succumbs by asking Vanessa for help. Both decide to decorate the galley in a winter wonderland kind of way. Dan had been complaining about the lack of holiday-ness he was feeling. It’s a hit. Maybe not because of the decorations but the fact in the middle of the gallery a mattress is seen. So, Serena has given herself to Dan for Christmas? Um. Sure. The next morning, Serena leaves Dan to go home. When she arrives, she finds a Christmas tree in her family penthouse. It had been a rule that trees weren’t allowed in the hotel. She’s happy. It’s a Christmas miracle! Hahaha. No. For Gossip Girl this episode is blah. Shame on you, CW for giving us a pathetic Christmas show. Where’s the typical episode party we’ve come to expect?

Back at the Waldorf mansion, Blair tries to send Roman away but to no avail. She goes to her room to pout, until Daddy enters and tells her he loves her. This scene is like a really bad Full House moment. He ends his Danny Tanner speech with a surprise. He has built a room for her at his French mansion. Blair is all of a sudden happy and I’m thinking it has more to do with the room then the “I love you” announcement.

On a side note, Rufus and Alison (Dan’s parents) decide to, once and for all, split. Yeah, like none of us saw that coming. Please. I expected more from you Gossip Girl. I need my fights and my all around craziness. Why kick off Chuck? He would have given us a holiday to remember. Nate? Sure, he’s dull, he didn’t need to be there. But, Chuck? I expect you to make this up to me in the New Year. It needs to be: 2008, The Year of the Chuck…that is if this strike lets up. Happy post-holidays!
