Oh my god. It’s another party! Not even real teens go to this many parties. Geez. A debutante ball is upon our favorite teens. Blair is excited for the party. Nate and Chuck talk about the party as well. Nate seems to be having some guilt over losing Blair. It’s time for some practicing. Dan goes to the practice room to meet Serena and her grandmother Serena’s grandmother arrives to berate Dan for his views on how outdated the ball is. Dan is threatened by how intimating the rich old lady is. Chuck and Blair make-out on her bed and talk about how she’s going to the ball with some prince. Minutes later Nate arrives and begs her to go the ball with him. But, they’re only going “as friends,” yeah right, sure. At Serena’s penthouse her grandmother announces she might have “something bad in her lungs.” It seems like a guilt trip the grandmother is playing to get Serena to go.

Blair arrives to Nate’s fitting and completely ignores him texting Chuck. Jenny and Lily talk in a shoe store about the debutante ball after her mother had said no. Jenny’s being a bad girl! Dan and Serena act cutesy arriving at her apartment, moving on…Dan has come to a tea party to make a good impression with Serena’s grandmother. It doesn’t work. The grandma has set her up with another guy for the ball. Plus she has this awesome rant that spells out how lame and poor Dan is! You go Grandma! Evil grandmas are the best. Maybe I love this woman because she was evil on Buffy. Who knows? In retaliation, Dan will take Serena to the ball.

The New York Times is interviewing Blair when Chuck comes in, almost wrecking it. But, Blair stops him and yells at him for being, well, Chuck. Dan is getting ready for the ball, when Rufus comes in just as determined for his son to kick some Van Der Wooden butt after grandma had arrived at his gallery to blackmail his son to go away. Grandma’s going down…fight back grandma, please?! Dan comes to Serena’s penthouse to tell her that grandma had blackmailed his father. Serena gets defensive and tells Dan to leave. Maybe we won’t have to see another ball! Yes!!!

Darn it. The ball has started. The boys and girls line up in two rows ready to make their “debut.” A wrinkled lady announces the girls and gives them intros. Serena inserts some card into the stack to make her intro ore fun. Dancing has begun. Really long boring ballroom-esque dancing. Though, in true Josh Schwartz fashion, Nate punches someone who he believes is dating Blair. Now it’s fun! Nice, I say more punching! More evil grandmas! And more importantly, no more balls!

Nate is asked to leave as Chuck confesses he spilled information to Gossip Girl that Blair was “dating” the prince when she wasn’t. This was to get Dan upset and kicked off the ballroom floor. Serena gets her grandma to confess as well to not really being sick (um duh…). Serena turns around to go dancing with Dan. Chuck goes to find Blair to apologize but finds her making out with Nate. Chuck’s hurt. So am I. What is this show doing to me?! I’m empathizing with Chuck!
