They were all impressed with your Halston dress
And the people that you knew at Elaine’s
And the story of your latest success kept ‘em so entertained…

Wow, it only took me eight episodes to quote Billy Joel, and there’s not even a context (although this week Brody does extensively quote from the other Bard of New Jersey -- Bon Jovi). It was just time, I guess.

Wow, it only took me eight episodes to quote Billy Joel, and there’s not even a context (although this week Brody does extensively quote from the other Bard of New Jersey -- Bon Jovi). It was just time, I guess.

Anyway, Big Shots, where you been? We were getting along so well, and then you up and disappear for a month? I really needed those “previously on…” scenes. James and Katie kissed. Brody gave his in-law an infarction. Karl’s still got one woman too many. Duncan got fired after the Dontrelle encounter (finally) became public knowledge. All Big Shots present and accounted for…

Right into this week’s action: Mama said knock Karl out after Karl recognizes a bully from high school. I think I recognize him, too. It’s Dauber, from Coach!

Duncan resurfaces to announce his plans for what sounds like a plan for either a leveraged buyout of Reveal or a plan to control the Board of Directors. But I don’t think anyone researched how public corporations actually work, because I’m pretty sure Elizabeth giving Duncan the shares she got in the divorce doesn’t make him automatic CEO. And he wants to buy a lot of shares from this Gavin dude (Love Boat Gavin? I wish!)… wouldn’t you get a loan and try to buy shares on the open market -- hence the leverage in LBO? Then there’d be a Board of Directors, proxy fight, control of the Board, named successor… nevermind, I’m off on a tangent; it’s a television show, and I’m about as fluent in the workings of Wall Street as your average day laborer.

Ooh! Liz Rohm is back, and she gets catty with Nia Long. Meow! Is Rohm a full-time character? She does like one cameo an episode (nice work if you can get it?) – I kind of want to be sure she’s going to be around for awhile before I bother remembering her name. Of course, that’s the same attitude that kept me single for many years.

James’ ex-wife is now knocked up and planning wedding number two to Nick. Is this is the same superhero that James fought at the birthday party? Cause I kind of liked him. Stacey wants to move to California, so James naturally promises to have her killed. Like that won’t come up in the custody battle.

Dauber wants Karl’s recommendation to get him into the Fernwood country club. Karl says no dice but Brody does Dauber a solid. Karl is not pleased -- post-acceptance, Dauber reverts to old habits, taunting Karl left and right. Dauber, you’re a mountain of a man, but have you seen this Molina guy without a shirt? The gauntlet is thrown, Karl vs. Dauber, Queensbury Rules, high noon!

Duncan meets his white knight, who happens to walk around his estate in the buff and asks if Duncan travels with a crossbow. Whuh? Is there a potentially lethal due diligence step in stock transfers that I don’t know about? Anyway, don’t you just hate when your parachute doesn’t open? Because they go skydiving to seal the deal, and Gavin’s shoot doesn’t, blowing the whole shebang out of the water.

James fights for custody, but learns what everyone else with a pulse already knows – odds are against the dads. James threatens to move to California, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

Bullsy’s kid Zach (remember him?) steals screen time from Cameron before running off to catch someone’s puke. Yup, that pretty much summed up every party I went to at that age. Zach’s friend, Mr. Scum Bucket (that’s his Christian name), puts the moves on Cam and manages to let slip that Zach went to UCLA, not Princeton. Cam smells trouble, whereas I just assume he was embarrassed to admit to being a Bruin. Cam shares her concerns with Lizbeth.

Zach starts throwing these Single White Female vibes at Cammie, so she retaliates by swiping his drink to get a DNA sample. Guess what? Not related after all. Hmm…

Good thing I didn’t start planning a James-free Big Shots, because Nick isn’t much of a super hero after all, and both Stacey and James are staying in town.

Our climax comes as Karl gets his clock cleaned by Dauber, which leads to Brody kicking Dauber in the head. I smell trouble, as litigious a society as we live in…

We end with Cammie in peril and Duncan mysteriously back in the head office.

Next week – Charisma Carpenter!!! Wow, I was just happy to see Dauber; I had no idea that Cordy was right behind him!

On the promise of next week alone, I give this episode my highest rating, which, oddly enough, is 4 out of 5 dentists.

    Such is life.

  3. Big Shots TV Show is an American television drama created and executive produced by Jon Harmon Feldman. This is one of the best show. I like it very much. Thanks for sharing the review.
